If you look at Hojbjerg as a Sissoko replacement he makes a lot more sense He's not supposed to be a DM, but he's been made an ersatz DM in much the same way Winks has been, when both of them simply wouldn't play the way they do alongside a Wanyama or Sandro
You think that City lose the ball 100 times a game? Seems rather unlikely. You're also equating fouls made with fouls given.
City do lose the ball a bit less and the hundred is a rough average. But I doubt they keep the ball more than a minute on average and their opponents probably only manage 15 seconds. So it will still be 60 or 70 turnovers. Tackles are one of the least common ways of turning possession.
Also scored a perfect hat-trick for the Scouse against Arsenal: I don't think that anyone still playing is anywhere near catching him, either. Giroud is closest, but he's about 20 behind!
Citeh are also criminally UNDER-PENALISED by refs for the nature/number of fouls they commit. If any PL ref went off-script early in their games, Citeh would be clocking up the fouls to ensure some of their games would be finishing with less than 11 men on the pitch.
Which just go to show, sometimes the true worth of a player is also measured in intangible off-pitch beneficial by-products.
In our case just wait for the misplaced pass- we give the ball away with frightening regularity when the pass appears an easy one
Seriously disagree with this. The **** standard of refereeing means many of their fouls are not given. And I say this after watching them against a lot of teams not just spurs.
That might be true but it doesn't alter the fact that tackling is not the main source of gaining possession. It's forcing long passes by pressing. Tackles are obe of the things that are over rated by fans. I'd go quite close to saying that most of them are forced upon you by a positional mistake.
