No need to start a new thread... With both Aurier and Tripps injured, is anyone else concerned about the Right Back? Not sure if KWP is ready to face the likes of Barcelona at the Nou Camp! Perhaps we need Toby to move over to the right, and put Dier in defence? Not sure if Foyth is ready yet either against Barcelona!
I don't think Foyth is in the CL squad. Dier has played right back before, but then not sure who would play in the middle. Can we risk a midfield of Winks and Supermoussa? Is Aurier definitely out?
Poch said he thinks KWP is ready to start vs Barca, if I remember his comments post-Leicester correctly, so I think we'll see him. Big test for the youngster.
please log in to view this image Tuesday 11th December 8pm Champions League Group Stage Camp Nou This is it. We need to at least match Inter's result tonight or we're out. That probably means going to Barcelona and winning, unless PSV can do us a massive favour. Quite unlikely really, but we have to give it our best shot and make sure that we take our chances. They probably won't be at 100%, as they're already through and are fighting it out in La Liga. A 4-0 derby win on the weekend will have their spirits high, though. We need to be at our best and have a bit of luck, too. Demebele, Wanyama, Trippier and Sanchez are unavailable due to injury, while Foyth is ineligible and injured. Aurier came off against Leicester too, so Walker-Peters may have to start this one. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Winks; Sissoko, Alli, Son; Moura. Subs: Gazzaniga, Walker-Peters, Rose, Skipp, Eriksen, N'Koudou, Kane. League form: WWWLWW. Barca: Ter Stegen; Samedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal; Messi, Suarez, Dembele. Subs: Cillesen, Vermaelen, Miranda, Alena, Suarez, Coutinho, El Haddadi. League form: WWLDWW. Referee: Milorad Mažić (SRB). Was in charge of PSV v Inter earlier in the group and made a terrible decision to keep Handanovic on the pitch. TV: BT Sport 3. Would you spring any surprises on Barcelona or go with the tried and tested? Who would you pick for the midfield spots, given our fairly limited options? Any changes to the bench or are you happy with what we've been picking?
Hugo KWP, Toby, Jan, Davies Dier, Sissoko Son, Eriksen, Alli Kane Valverde has supposedly implied he won’t field a weakened Barca side, so chances are we’ll be facing Messi, Rakitic, Dembele and co. Suarez may not start as he just returned from injury but that’s about it. If we manage this (don’t think we will), this’ll be one of the real great escapes in CL group stage history.
We have never lost on match day 6 and Kane has scored 7 goals in his 7 CL away matches so it's possible.
I agree, mate. It will be outstanding. Not sure it is on the same level as Man City and Newcastle's great escapes, but it would be very special going to the Nou Camp and winning to get through.
Be sure to have some Valium handy, you know that we will go 1-0 up in the first five minutes and then try to defend the lead for over 85 minutes.
Valverde has said there will be squad rotations tomorrow. Rumours already emerging that Suarez won’t be playing.
Confirmed Suarez won't play , rumours that Messi might not either. But rest assured any team we put out will take it to Barca - passion won;t be lacking COYS!
You can hear certain supporters of certain teams already practicing their bleating of "You only beat their youth team" already...
Just read an article on the BBC website about their Dembele (Ousmane). The writer reckons that he has an attitude problem and is affecting team harmony at Nou Camp. Think this a bit of smoke and mirrors and they will put him in the team.
All I demand of the boys tonight is an "echoes of glory" performance. Cry Goal for Tottenham, Arry and St Nicholson !!!
