Yes, but you could argue that the West Ham collapse was a result of the United result and having achieved 3 - 0 the team began to believe in their omnipotence as it was all so easy. For 15 minutes. Either way the post United performance has been very poor.
and everyone (if they didn’t already know) has now seen the evidence that our defence isn’t strong enough to be relied up on for a defensive style of football for the majority of the match. So why are we persisting with this “counter attacking” style, which only equates to as few attacking chances per game as you’ve mentioned? We’ve got loads of players that can cause a problem and muck in with goals, so it doesn’t make any sense. Surely we’ve got to the point now where we should be opting for the “we’re gonna beat you 5-4 style?”.
I have zero issues with counter attacking football but we’re not even doing that. We’re just sitting back for the whole game and hoping Harry produces something (just like AVB-Bale style) or waiting to go 1-0 down before we start actually playing, though it honestly looks like we’ve not trained any attacking style of play of late because when we do push up we’re absolutely clueless as to what to do. Players keep running into dead ends or we’re just hoofing and hoping.
Again - I don't believe a game against 10 men could have had that much of a bearing on Jose's outlook. In truth, we've been pretty poor for most of the season, playing well in fits and starts but overall failing to control games from start to finish - i.e. identical to what we were like in the second half of the 18/19 season. Everton - awful Soton - awful 1st half Newcastle - good but wasteful United - freak occurrence West Ham - actually quite poor and never looked comfortable despite the scoreline after 16mins Burnley - awful Brighton - awful, deserved to lose WBA - awful Man City - superb Chelsea - solid if uninspired Arsenal - brilliant 1st half, shocking 2nd half Palace - awful until they equalised Liverpool - solid but wasteful Leicester - awful Wolves - awful Leeds - good Fulham - awful Sheff Utd - good Liverpool - awful Brighton - awful It ain't pretty. If the season ended tomorrow, the only games I'd look back on with a real sense of pride are the City win, the defeat at Anfield and maybe one half each out of the Arsenal and Soton games.
Don't disagree, it's pretty damming when you list it out. Despite which we are still in the mix for a top 4 place which shows you how messed up the season is without the crowds. We also saw clear signs of the players being unhappy with each other and frustrated with the team methods.
Me too. Pfizer. Three weeks ago. Painless, no after-effects. Efficiently managed at the local centre. Very Impresed. Now the long wait for Part II !!!
The lack of crowds is, of course, why West Ham are doing so well. They're not disturbed by the lack of crowd noise, as they're thoroughly used to it.
AVB quote- 'It was not a decision that I took. It was specifically a player that I said no to. I was not aware of it, I learned of the signing when I woke up and went on the No 1 Marseille website,' the Portuguese manager said. 'I like Marseille but I am a professional. When you want to give me a guy (Ntcham) who has no similarities with the characteristics of the guy (Sanson) who left... A gentlemen's agreement about bringing players in has been broken.
