Solid win...wrap them all up in cotton wool for Tuesday. So we sit 6 points behind the two big spenders. If only Levy gave a **** about the team. COYS
Nothing dazzling about tonight, except for Son's goal. But Spurs did enough, clean sheet etc. A good result and keeps Spurs in 3rd. Now for the big one on Tuesday...
Not playing in close to top gear in the PL yet, but only 6 pts behind those so-called "great" teams. Word to the hacks and "pundits" : pull your pants up.
City play Everton next which is tricky and we play Burnley which isn't. Well, that was a good solid win and the 0-2 I hoped it would be to repeat the score of the 1961 cup final when we played Leicester and Burnley the following year who are our next opponents and 3-1 will do to repeat the score of the 62 final. I'm perplexed as to why Kane was brought on as the spadework was done without him and I felt we might have had a third had he stayed off. We can win without him as we have proved because imo his absence frees up the others. However he will be played against Barca which, given the stature of the fixture has to be the right decision................I think. One talking point about tonight's match was the defender giving Son so much time to cross for Dele, I blinked when I saw that.
I am a bit RRich. I thought playing against strugglers Southampton was a good chance for him to score two or three and not just one, I still feel he's not 100% and like I said we'd already beaten Leicester at home before he needlessly came on. We often seem to score more freely when he's not playing.
Ok. Let’s leave the £200m valued WC Golden Boot winner on the bench. I’m sure the others will step up.
I agree with you. On those occasions Spurs have been without Kane, it does appear that Spurs tend to score more (I haven't checked if this is factually correct). I was looking forward to seeing Spurs play without Kane yesterday simply to see if there would be a high score. But this was always going to be unlikely against Leicester. But I want Kane to play against Barcelona. That's not the game to leave him out.
Deja vu - We are Spurs fans!! I don't know about anyone else but every FA Cup semi-final we have reached since 1991 has given me a distinct feeling of Deja vu
