How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?
Not sure. Even the infamous 2 points from 8 games went LLDLDLLL. I think it was in 2004. October and November saw 6 consecutive league defeats. That was broken up by League Cup victories over Bolton and Burnley.
Another game at a ground that just don't get results at is just what we need. After Thursday I would like Ange to try something different, but we know he won't, changes in midfield only would be my guess whereas I would happily see Son, Royal, and Kulu benched My Team - 3-5-2 - Vicario, Romero, Dragusin, Van De Ven, Porro, Bentancur, Sarr, Lo Celso, Santiago, Richarlison and Scarlett, and if we get that team tomorrow then we will need to shoot down the pigs that are flying over the stadium as we run out!
Seriously what’s the point make other plans for your Sunday late afternoon people I’m off to the cinema
I've been wondering for a long time why we don't play 3ATB. Gets the most out of Romero as it allows him to drift forward more often and also compensates for the total lack of midfield control/cover. I feel that paranoia over goals is what holds us back from this. Ange seems to like having as many attackers on the pitch at the same time as possible. Understandable to a point since Kane's departure, but it isn't working..
The main reason is we don't really have the midfield for 3ATB without either being potentially porous when the opposition have the ball or unintentionally reverting to Conteball If we want to have some degree of protection that means Hojbjerg starts and all the backwards/sideways passes that entails, but if we want to be progressive that likely puts Sarr at the base with two of Bentancur/Maddison/Lo Celso in the progressive roles and that doesn't look likely to sit on games
If we get turned over by 3+ more goals there will be some serious pressure on Ange. If it wasn’t for the first 10 games, which now look like an anomaly, we would be bottom half of the league. I’m expecting absolutely nothing from this game. The only thing I am hoping for is that we show some pride and play with some fire. The way we have played the last few weeks I’m not even expecting that. Sorry to be so negative, but Liverpool away, playing the way we have been, just has big home win written all over it. I’m going out and not putting myself through it!
