Utd was the only game there where we were actually very impressive over the whole 90 minutes, despite not winning it. Palace away was also in October by the way. If that’s amazing football to you then you’ve lowered your standards for Ange, because not a chance is the football “much better” than Jose or Conte’s. And I’m sorry, you can’t be “unlucky” to be 3-0 down at HT to your greatest rivals at home. That is a completely poor mentality to take.
We really are going out with a whimper aren’t we. Richy, Lo Celso and Skipp have to start the next game, the latter at LB
Anyone think Ange didn’t want Dragusin? Skipp actually done quite well at LB when he came on but logically speaking, why would a right footed midfielder come on at LB, when you can bring on a CB and play the starting left footed CB at LB? We’re also being linked with more CBs too. Got a feeling Dragusin could very well be a quick exit in the summer you know.
This summer is going to be interesting....There's a cluster of **** clubs like Tottenham that could all go either way depending on this window.
Most of the CBs we're being linked with are left-footed though A week or two ago WindyCOYS mentioned this: Dragusin is effectively a right-sided Mickey Van, so we should be looking for a left-sided Romero - which is why our being linked with Riccardo Calafiori stands out, as he certainly does play like a left-footed Romero
its bizarre that he hasn’t got more minutes considering how poor the defence has been. Maybe he’s not buying into Ange’s ‘tactics’ either Wouldn’t blame him for wanting out, if he can’t get a game now then he never will.
Calafiori’s in high demand at the moment with Juve and Leverkusen supposedly also interested, if you’re Calafiori, then potentially money aside, it’s unlikely you’d pick to join us after seeing how little opportunities are given to backup CBs.
Similar can be said for Bayern and Juve though ...wait, scratch that, Tuchel only gives the backup CBs starts and freezes out the first-choice ones for baffling reasons
Definitely a weird one. He can play RB too and seeing as Porro looks like he’s not 100% at the moment, there’s been a fair few opportunities where he could’ve gotten game time. Very, very odd. I definitely wouldn’t blame him if he sought a quick exit. Probably even more frustrating for him knowing he could’ve gone to Bayern, Dier’s started practically every game there.
Saddest thing is Tuchel’s probably been right sticking with Dier. Upamecano has been awful this season and Kim was torn to shreds the other night against Madrid and apparently been patchy when he’s played in others.
Top 4 is still doable I thought the substitutions worked well, apart from Maddison. A good effort from spurs to get the two goals but it was too little and too late. Son is on the decline. Maddison is tripe. No more Emerson at LB. Johnson was anonymous except for one headed chance. Skipp did well at LB. Made some great runs but Son didn’t pass to him. I must keep reminding myself that Pep, Klopp and Arteta had poor first seasons so next season is the final decider. I suspect Ange will have until Christmas to prove himself.
It's one of those self-fulfilling ones: he freezes out De Ligt and Upemecano for long stretches, and when they get a chance after spells out of the team any mistake they make gets seized upon by him It's the same ballpark of how Conte treated pretty much anyone outside his preferred xi last season
At least the new rules allowing clubs like Newcastle to spend 500 million on players will help your situation lads.
Am I alone in wondering if we got completely mugged off for Maddison? Strikes me as the quintessential fairweather player. Great when things are going well and you're on top, but woeful when there is a need to knuckle down and get your hands dirty.
