Was this about the 2nd offside goal? Sanchez actually played that one perfectly. He knew the guy was offside and kept him there.
Sanchez did OK today, I thought he did what was needed and on that form he is a better bet than Dier.
Yeah, I saw that. Was really smart. The forward is stupid to go offside in the build up, but Sanchez definitely kept him there. Credit where it is due.
Just a thought: I've said for a while our system needs both a rock of a DM and a quick CB to mop up, which would allow us to move the defensive line 10-20 yards up the pitch, and today Davos showed us that if he maintains his discipline he can be the quick CB the system requires. Obviously there's a couple of dozen games at least to go this season so he shouldn't be judged solely on this one game, but he certainly has given us a reason to play him ahead of Dier for a few games Honestly, I wonder if Dier is going to be told to drop weight this summer, because his bulking up to be a CB has cost him at least half a yard of pace, and if he shed a few pounds he could fit in the Ben Davies role on the right
Kane back...against the worst outfit in this league, a 2-0 win should be the minimum expectation...and it keeps us in with the chance of European football next season. It changes nothing and means nothing if we don't play better in the next few games. The one notable point... Mourinho looked like he's been sleeping in a skip for the last few days. Come on, at least look like you want to be doing the job.
Dier has been visibly overweight for 3 years. And losing weight won't change the fact that he is a terrible footballer.
I think overweight is a little bit of a misleading description. He's bulked up way too much, but he's not fat. His mobility has gone, though. Needs to do less gym work or something.
They were only 3 goals away from winning tell him, and if they can't beat Spurs then they must be rubbish because everybody else can.
Didn't think fans were allowed at games, this WBA fan got in and his attire has a certain Jour ne sais quoi
Hojbjerg looked good in picking passes. Still think he isn't doing his job properly in defence though.
Good to get three points and be better. Just can’t get excited by it though, the feeling of indifference has set in.
