Yeah, sounds like they've decided to take Coates on loan from Liverpool rather than Borini. Personally, I would happily take Borini. Would be a real option from the bench. Particularly whilst Jay is injured (it would only need to be a loan until Jan, if necessary).
Borini would leave us with a great selection of strikers to choose from. Wouldn't see him as a starter though, especially if Long starts banging them in.
If we sign Borini on a permanent, it would suggest to me that the board know that Jayrod has made up his mind and we'll get him fit, then flog him for as much money as we can get.
Would certainly make sense, which would be a great shame because Jay would fit perfectly into Koeman's system i think. Would be a bit miffed by Jay too, considering we looked after him.
Spurs must be crackers: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...t-to-secure-deadline-day-signing-9703810.html They're offering Andros Townsend + £14M for JayRod. Saints have apparently ended their interest in Townsend. I guess we can call that a refusal then.

That guy who wrote that article a month or so ago told us this would be the plan. Swell the wage bill with loans which we can cover with money not spent on transfer fees. Then next season we have our wage bill +4m as a starting point. i.e. if we reached £54m wages last season but then got in £100m transfers we spend half of that on loanees wages and get up to say £65m in wages. Next summer we can then buy players and have a wage bill of £69m which would put us ahead of all the other 7th to 17ths in the league by a fair margin and give us an advantage. Why can we do this and other teams not? Because other teams that would need to do this haven't got that spare £100m floating about to cover it. That article is turning out to be spot on with the business we are doing.
Any chance of you putting a link up please Impsaint? I don't recall that article; sounds interesting.
