Was just listening to Radio 5 and David Ornstein was on there talking about the Arsenal deals. Arsenal apparently very happy to get Mkhitaryan in a swap deal for Sanchez, reports were that relationships between Sanchez and his team mates had completely broken down. On Aubemeyang, growing confidence that Arsenal will get the deal done, negotiations will continue into next week as either cash fee is agreed or player (Giroud) + cash is agreed. But very likely to happen
ORNSTEEINNNNN Sanchez latest please log in to view this image David Ornstein BBC Sport AlexisSanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both need to update their work permits, so it is sounding as Tuesday is more likely than Monday unless the process goes quicker than expected. Arsenal are now stepping up their pursuit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and remain confident of striking a deal - but this will probably drag out over the next week as it is complicated by the need to reach an agreement on a fee and possibly a player going the other way. If that deal does go through Arsenal are unlikely to have enough available money for any more significant incomings - they are/were in contention to sign West Brom defender Jonny Evans.
Hmmm so ornstein says no further signings if we sign aubameyang? Thoughts on this? I think it's probably because it's hard to find players in January. Hopefully we address midfield and defense in the summer... Also if we sign aubameyang I'd really like to play two up top. I think lacazette and him would work really well together.
Mkhi + Aubameyang, particularly if Wilshere and Ozil sign new contracts will have been a much better January than I expected so I'd definitely take that. Then in summer we need to go all out for a new CB and CM/DM (or both).
I think "**** you cocksucker". Mkhitaryan is free. Walcott gone for £20m and Coquelin £12m. Aubemeyang will be £50m. Are they trying to insinuate AFC only has enough money to spend £18m on transfers? I repeat. Go **** yourself Ornstein.
To be fair, given that it looked like the only thing happening this Jan was losing Sanchez, this has been a decent window (as long as we get Aubemeyang) Having Ozil, Mkhi, Lacazette and Aubemeyang in the team is going to cause the oppo no end of problems And like you say, hopefully in the summer we can add a CM, Isco or Rafinha please. And another CB.
http://metro.co.uk/2018/01/21/henrikh-mkhitaryans-contract-details-arsenal-revealed-7246722/ Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s contract details with Arsenal revealed Henrikh Mkhitaryan will sign a three-and-a-half year contract that makes him the highest paid player at Arsenal, according to reports. The Armenian is in London with his agent, Mino Raiola, to complete a medical with the Gunners ahead of an imminent straight swap deal that will see Alexis Sanchez join Manchester United. It had been claimed that Mkhitaryan would ask for the same massive salary Arsenal had offered to Sanchez to try to keep him to stay, which would have been around £300,000-a-week. But according to The Mirror, Mkhitaryan has settled on a £200,000-a-week deal – which still represents a massive pay hike compared to what he was earning at United. It also means Mkhitaryan is now the biggest earner at Arsenal, though the Gunners have tabled a contract offer to Mesut Ozil – whose current deal expires in the summer – that would eclipse that offer. Any chance that these rumours are true that we are giving Mkhi £200k a week? Add to those rumours, Ozil has demanded a huge payrise to stay from £140k to £200k a week. Seriously this is all madness, how is Mkhi worth £200k a week and Ozil https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/jul/02/mesut-ozil-superstar-wages-arsenal could potentially get a huge pay increase of 43%. We really live in crazy times.
Wenger on Sanchez leaving for Man U: While Wenger understands the lure of United’s offer, he cannot comprehend why anyone would want to leave Arsenal, having himself rejected interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to stay at the club he has managed for over 21 years. “I understand nothing,” Wenger, who told Sanchez on Friday that he was free to leave his squad and complete a move to United, said. “You ask me how can I understand that you want to leave Arsenal. “One thing when you make transfers for 30 years you know a lot about human beings. He’s professional. It’s his last contract, maybe, at the top level and it was an important contract. “After that, I accept that. We accept to let him go. We analysed the pros and the cons. We did what we had to do. We went as far as we could go. “Even Man City moved out of it in the end. That tells you we had no chance to give him a contract.” His demands must have been HUGE.
Sanchez' goodbye statement per his instagram. Gracias por todo Gunners ! I want to say thanks to the Technical Staff, to the medical team and all teammates with whom I shared many nice things for the club and especially those people who do not see themselves on the covers, but without them nothing would be possible, which are there to prepare food for us and take care of us day by day, those who keep our shoes clean and the grass in the best conditions. Many thanks to you for helping us to improve every day. Thank you very much . There are people (former club players) who have spoken with no knowledge of what happens inside the club and cause damage. I must say I always gave 100%, until the last day, when I asked to the Mister to be in the team, because I wanted to be a contribution. I remember today, a conversation I had with Henry, a historic Arsenal player, who changed club for the same reason and today is my turn. Thanks for everything Gunners! All we achieved and the good moments that I gave to the club, I want to dedicate it to the fans, they are the most important. Thanks for every time you sing Alexis Sanchez Baby very very interesting. Especially the part about people who dont know the inners of the club (about his departure) and the part about having a conversation with Henry who left the club for the same reason...
Mkhitaryan/Sanchez deal now confirmed on Arsenal.com Only downside is going to be the inevitable use of "Hey Mhki" as his song.
The Telegraph are claiming we are looking to tie up Aubameyang and Johnny Evans before the window closes. Mkhitarian, Aubmeyang and Johnny Evans - this would be a fantastic window.
