A few interesting rumours going around at AFC Wimbledon match Rovers turned down a bid for JCH £2.5 million Ollie Clarke wanting to leave as he feels he is not appreciated Kyle Bennett of to Swindon Michael Kelly of to Mansfield Tom Nicholls going out on loan A loan striker coming in on loan from WBA Any body heard of any of these or any others
If its true that we've turned down a £2.5 million bid for JCH then fair shout to our board. Ollie is too hot and cold. He has cracking games sometimes, especially like last season. But this season he hasn't had the best of it. The Peterborough game he was our worse player on the pitch and his late chance to win the game would have been scored if it was last season. But it was typical of him this season. Swindon are welcome to Bennett. In fact, any club are welcome to him. We would be stupid to let Kelly go. With Holmes-Dennis constantly out injured, we only have Leahy as LB with no cover if we let Kelly go. Nichols out on loan would be good for all parties. He works hard and we will miss that but we need a striker to score more to take the weight off JCH shoulders. With Smith out injured with a foot injury picked up away from the club and now wearing a protective boot, he may not be playing much football for a while. If JCH is in demand and we let him go and let Nichols go too, then a striker from WBA would be handy. Gavin Reilly is back from his loan deal from Cheltenham. I just hope we keep hold of Jaakkola. I will be pleased if we can manage this.
Reading an article on Bristol Live Reilly is either likely to be loaned out or Sold if an offer comes in for him
Apparently we are according to Hashtag TW favourites to Antoine Semenyo from City on loan and we are also looking at Omar Bogle who is apparently departing from Cardiff City
Garner said yesterday he will sit down with him and the rest of the players having a one to one chat to discuss their futures. This will take place in around 2 weeks time because games are coming thick and fast so just not been enough time to do it yet.
Josh Barrett who has left Reading is apparently tipped to join Bristol Rovers. An attacking MF who can play left/ right/ centre behind a striker He is 21 yrs old and has made 10 league appearances at championship level and 2 league cup appearances scoring 2 goals as well as appearances at league 2 and National league level According to Bristol Rovers hashtag Twitter Leeds Utd are set to Bid £4m for JCH
Josh Barrett has joined Rovers from Reading for an undisclosed fee Some footage of Barrett in action on Bristol Rovers (@official-BRFC ) The deal is for 2 1/2 years
Deon Moore has left the club at the end of his contract Tom Nichols has he can leave the club this month
Moore's going and so might Nichols that is going to leave us very short of strikers with Tyler - Smith injured. just 2 fit senior strikers and with bids expected for JCH
Victor aint doing it for me. Smith is injured. JCH could go. Moore has gone. Nichols may go. Reilly may go. I expect a few strikers to come in this month for sure.
Reilly is here until the end of the season unless he goes back home and the 2 club rule ceases to apply, he looked good today and I hope he stays
According to Bristolrovers hashtag on tw we are signing a winger from PNE called Josh Ginnelly 21 years of age. Started his career at Aston Villa, then Shrewsbury Town before moving to Burnley. 2015 2018 were spent on loan to a varitety of clubs before joining Walsall in 2018 and also in 2018 moving to PNE. 92 appearances from Championship to National league scoring 14 goals
The player he was sent on loan to cover has returned to full fitness which according to the press reports was why Cheltenham cancelled the loan and sent him back to Rovers, they also praised his attitude on the pitch and in the dressing room, personally glad to see him back I think he will be a good player for us if is given a chance
Sheffield Utd have recalled Tyler - Smith and sent him on loan to Rochdale for the rest of the season
https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2020/january/tyler-smith-recall/ We can today confirm that striker Tyler Smith has been recalled from his loan spell by his parent club, Sheffield United. The 21-year-old joined the Gas on a season-long loan in the summer and went on to make 28 appearances, scoring five times in the process. We would like to express our thanks to Tyler for his efforts during his spell at the Memorial Stadium and wish him every success in his future career.
Why has he been recalled? I could understand it if Sheff Utd wanted to use him if they had a shortage themselves. But to immediately loan him back out again seems very strange. It's not as if its down to a lack of game time. He has been involved in 28 games this season. And he would have played more if it wasn't for injuring himself in training.
