Pfft, I can think of at least six reasons that's complete bollocks, starting with a really obvious one: Martial's got one year on his contract while Son's got two, so a straight swap simply will not happen - although if we wait six months, we might be able to swap Sissoko for Martial, which is exactly what the Sanchez/Mkhitarian swap was.
Martial has great potential but an instant swap wouldn’t be ideal. Son is definitely the better player. I’d still happily take Martial at Spurs though if Utd were willing to deal. Part of me hopes there may be a way Son can get out of national service, he’s South Korea’s - wait - Asia’s most marketable player, surely there’s a way he can get special dispensation?
As I said, wait six months then offer Sissoko. Or does he pass the ball forwards too much for Steptonho's liking?
I just can't see us trading Sonny for Martial. He's too good a player and commercially, a gold mine. plus, he's potentially off to the Asian Games and with the military service issue still to be resolved, United would be mad to suggest it. This rumour comes from a German source that I've never heard of and suggested Liverpool and Arsenal as other destinations. Just ridiculous. A total nonsense.
Another reason to believe the Son/Martial swap story is complete and utter scrotum... It's also worth pointing out that, in the space of a day, Sport1 have linked Son to Man Utd and Liverpool - almost as if they're clickbait merchants...

File him in the same cabinet as George and Clinton Ah well, we never know, he might have good haircuts and be able to dance. Can't wait
Media missing a trick by not using a headline such as “ALASSANE in come and get me PLEA to Spurs”. Wiki pages can be edited by the public though, B&W, so I wouldn’t read into what his page says. Tbh it seems a very out of the blue signing - which is often a likely transfer to happen as it once again proves English media never get a true whiff of what happens. Don’t know much about him but done a bit of research last night. Chelsea and Everton have both been linked to him so it seems he’s caught the eye of Prem sides already. Came through the Lyon academy and they’ve produced some very decent players over the years, seems to be one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 at the moment. We’re never going to sign a high profile name in the ST department while Harry is here, it’s impossible, finances aren’t even the issue, it’s the sheer fact we have arguably the best striker on the planet and so anyone coming in knows full well they’ll be second fiddle. If Plea signs and can just look like a footballer for a change, it’ll already be an upgrade on Soldado, Janssen and Nando.
As I suggested when Plea's name first came up last week, he does strike me as an Anthony Martial substitute as his game is pretty similar, given he's noted for some blistering pace and is capable of playing up front or on the wing. He's also got a pretty decent strike rate, based on his stats 2017/18: 21 goals and 7 assists in 49 games 2016/17: 14 goals and 3 assists in 32 games 2015/16: 6 goals and 4 assists in 19 games On the other hand, his injuries are an issue: he missed half of 2015/16 with a ruptured ACL and the final third of 2016/17 with a meniscus tear, but that does say that if he remains injury-free he could be a consistent striker
Pace up front would be great. It’s probably the only attribute Kane doesn’t have, not that he’s a slouch but he won’t be outpacing many FBs ina one-on-one race. Didn’t know about the injuries, a bit of a worry but I’d like to think should he sign, the medical team will have done all they can to ensure he was physically fine to join.
Another way to look at it is that those injuries occurred when he was playing ninety minutes every week, which is something he won't be doing for Spurs (if he signs, obviously) which would allow his knees more time for R&R
The same source who’s linked us with Alassane Plea is stating that Nice are looking to sign Loic Remy, which would suggest they’re trying to bring in Plea’s replacement before he goes.
Utd and Spurs on a collision course over transfers this summer. Current position is that Spurs are holding out for more than £55M for 29 year old Alderweireld. Spurs have made an enquiry about Martial and been told to f*** off. Bring on round two.
If the Alassane Plea deal has any legs, it looks like we’ve taken Utd’s “**** off” and moved on already. From what I’ve read about Plea, I can’t see us trying to sign both him and Martial, it’s one or the other and Utd don’t look like they’re going to budge. Nice on the other hand are supposedly already looking at Plea’s replacement.
There's one we can now definitely cross off:At least he's not going to a top rival. Ryan Sessegnon has signed a contract extension for a further 3 years .
