I am a big fan of the newer series. Didnt think I would be 25 years on, but Lynch pulls it out of the bag. I think producing tv as unique as that is hard to do in todays age. I still think the first series is better though. It is tighter somehow. Perhaps because it is all in Twin Peaks. It felt almost like a village setting. The characters were so completely odd, yet entirely believable too. Even log lady didnt seem a stretch, in that little place. I dont think they missed a beat in that first series, flawless.
He was stupid good in Justified. He was supposed to be the foil but by the end it felt like it was his story. He just dominated.
Loved fallout. Watched it in a couple of days. Don't talk about rings of power. The one good thing it had, Joseph Mawle who in fairness was magnificent, has been recast. That show might as well have been cancelled.
You finished this yet? Absolutely mindblowing. Especially when you consider its based on a true story.
The woman who plays the stalker is fantastic. She is in a comedy that Stephen Merchant wrote on BBC 'the outlaws', the jump to this shows she is a talent!
Another point on baby reindeer. I always look into 'based on true story' shows to see what the truth is and what's to add to the story. I think there are a few slight difference but not a great deal from reading this: https://amp-theguardian-com.cdn.amp...d-gadd-on-the-true-story-behind-baby-reindeer
Think she was in Pride as well about the miners and the gay scene coming together. As you say she's pretty fantastic. Does such a good job of tiptoeing the razors edge between the sympathetic and the abhorrent.
Lad at graft has just been on about that. It's about 15 year old but very good apparently. Kin has resparked the interest
Seen that but can't recall her in it. Quick edit. Just googled it and remember he now. Didn't realise it was her, probably the biggest difference in character. She is fantastic in baby reindeer though, when the switch flips its so believable and unnerving.
I found her scarier than any character I've seen in any horror film. Not to give anything away but her on the canal at night will haunt me for some time.
It's not for everyone but I really enjoyed The Curse. Tough one to describe in a nutshell but it's essentially a satire of people trying to be paragons of wokeness and also the bullshit of reality tv. Pretty surreal and strange and it's the kind of comedy that's got such a dark deadpan style that some people don't realise it's supposed to be funny. Tickled me though and it's different for sure.
Just watched The Gone on BBC i player. It was quite good. I especially enjoyed watching the female New Zealand detective. Oh and the scenery.
Anyone else like the White Lotus? We're rewatching the first series, good fun bit of escapism and profound with it.
Started watching it and thought Emma Stone was superb as she always seems to be. Thought the premise was pretty interesting and the tone worked really well but... Struggled with a lot of the dick humour and have put it away for now.
What a pit of vipers the internet is. Looks like amateur sleuths have definitively found the real indivual at the centre of the story of Baby Reindeer and have taken to trolling her, a mentally unwell person, through social media. They're also using incredibly flimsy evidence to attack the supposed real life secondary antagonist. What a shoddy people we have become.
