Tbh me and the wife are fully onboard with dick jokes and toilet humour so maybe didn't notice it so much, but I thought there was an early episode dealing with his below the belt situation and it barely got a mention after that. To be fair it's also building his character, partially explaining why he is like he is. Anyway I won't try and persuade you, everything is subjective but some things more so than others.
Anyone into The Young Offenders on the BBC? I nearly missed that there was a new series. Only my brother mentioned it. As good as ever.
Who recommended Kin? I loved series 1. Since this orrible owld git has turned up I hate it. Cliched and predictable. Still watching mind
Anybody watch Inside No. 9? I think I've mentioned it before how I find the show absolutely brilliant but rarely is it what I would laugh at but some brilliant 30 minute stories. Yeah. Won't be watching that ****ing prick! Absolute ****ing immoral piece of **** he is!
Watched a bit of it utterly grotesque. Morgan was harping on about netflix being out of order calling it a true story... there is a title card saying it's a fictionalised version of a true story. The guy is just appalling. Stirring up controversy for the sake of it. Interviewing a ****ing lunatic and giving her a platform. Bad form.
Yeah I've seen quite a lot of Inside No. 9 it's very good. I like how you never know what you're in for when you start one. Some really memorable stories, the blokes behind it have some imagination.
I thought it raised some interesting questions though. Was it necessary for Martha to be depicted as being so physically similar to the real person? Some of the details (the stuff about curtains, for example) from the real situation were recreated almost exactly in the series- could those incidental things not have been changed to better protect her identity? It left me with, if not more sympathy for her, less respect for Richard Gadd. Which I suspect wasn't Morgan's intention. Maybe I'm easily taken in.
I feel for her. She's clearly not well but she's also an absolute menace and a repeat offender. She also came charging out to say the person depicted is me and its all lies. That seems odd to me. She identified herself as the person depicted only to say the depiction wasn't like her at all, the character or the events. Is that not counter-intuitive?
Yeah, I think it is. Although, there seems to have been an effort to identify from almost the minute the show launched, so maybe she thought it best to out herself. Either way, her behaviour is definitely odd and it's quite clear that a lot of it did happen. I'm just not sure that anyone comes out of it looking very good.
Coincidentally, I was at a party on the weekend with the brother of the guy who played the abuser Darrien in Baby Reindeer.
Apparently she agreed to tdo the Morgan interview for 250 quid. Obviously a horrendous deal. She's now demanding a million pounds retrospectively. Crazy individual. I watched the hunt unfold on reddit. It was pretty grim.
Wow! Going by her behaviour during the interview none of that surprises me. I hope, for her sake, she doesn't do any more. I can't see it doing her any favours.
