In light of the current Covid-19 situation across Hull and the surrounding areas, the Club has taken the difficult decision to temporarily suspend some of its Academy operations at its Bishop Burton site. Although every effort has been made, in line with strict EFL Covid protocols, to adapt our training and games programmes at Bishop Burton, a sharp rise in the number of players having to self-isolate means that we sadly have no option other than to bring a halt to some activities at this time. This means that fixtures for all age groups, from our Under-16s down, training and day-to-day activities have been postponed until further notice, although coaching staff will continue to remotely deliver conditioning work to the players so that they are ready for the resumption of full activity when it is safe to do so. Our Under-23s’ fixtures will continue as scheduled, with players in that age group training at our Cottingham Training Ground. Our Under 18’s programme will also continue but in a reduced manner in the short term. The Club has, and will continue to, stringently follow EFL Covid protocols. Temporarily suspending our Academy operations at Bishop Burton has been an incredibly difficult decision for the Club to make, but our priority has to be the health and well-being of all of the players, staff, parents and families involved in the successful running of our Academy and we thank all of them for their understanding at this time. The Club will continue to monitor and review the situation, in the hope that the Academy can be back up and running as soon as possible.
I have to say that this was yet another rousing performance from our youngsters. What looked like a relatively weak side have gone and done a job on Coventry. It could have been more. We hit the woodwork at least twice. Great to see so many youngsters start. Well done to young Hinds and Snelgrove. Snelgrove looks like a really promising player from what I saw pre-Lockdown. Olly Green didn't feature until late but he looks like another one to keep an eye on. Mature beyond his years. Robson the goalkeeper made a couple of outstanding saves at crucial times. Not sure how many clean sheets this kid has had so far this season. The future is looking brighter than in a long time.
Billy Chadwick made his debut for Halifax against Hartlepool today and scored, the game went to penalties and he scored again. Halifax went through on penalties, after ex-Tiger Gavan Holohan missed his (ex-Tiger Nick Featherstone scored his).
They signed him this morning apparently and they're non-league, so the transfer window doesn't apply.
Good for him getting game time but seen nothing to suggest he's got much of a sniff at making it for us. He's 21 next month too
"Halifax took the lead with just over half an hour gone as Billy Chadwick led a counter-attack before setting up Jamie Allen, who fired past Joe McDonnell." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55197188
