The European Union’s chief Brexit negotiator has opened the door to re-opening talks about the EU and UK’s future relationship if Theresa May ditches some of her negotiating red lines.

Speaking the morning after MPs rejected the prime minister’s deal, Michel Barnier said that the European Council “unanimously” agreed and had “always said that if the UK chooses to shift its red lines in the future, and if it makes that choice to be more ambitious and to go beyond a simple free trade agreement, then the EU will be immediately ready to go hand in hand with that development and give a favourable response”.

Ms May has said she wants to end freedom of movement, leave the single market, customs union, and jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice – limiting the scope of her planned future trade deal with the EU and ending frictionless trade.

What's the latest on this ****? Do they have complete confidence in her, having massively lost the vote last night, or are they still debating letter box positioning? <laugh>

So it's now 100% clear that if she continues to state that she won't budge on her red lines then anyone supporting her in the vote of no confidence is a traitor to the country

Corbyn is waffling as we speak.

    6 hours bullshit.

There is 10% chance this all falls down like a house of cards

    no more.

None of the turkeys want to vote for christmas as a huge amount of them are under threat in an election.

The DUP will march in with flags and sashes and vote tory. (the same flags and sashes that ed to them not voting tory yesterday)

The tories need to line up behind may or risk corbyn winning an election.

Once that occurs the SNP, green, libdems and labour are irrelevant.

Today is for optics. Corbyn has being acting billy big balls for weeks about dropping this no confidence so he had to do it... but he's not winning it and in truth doesn't want to cos he can't fix brexit.

I think we need to realise what he just said.

    FUTURE is not WITHDRAWAL.

what he has just said is that if the UK wants to come back and enter a customs union come on... we are all in. Thats the 4 freedoms btw.

So he's said nothing new. and he's not said renegotiate the withdrawal agreement. That is the UK pays off the eu for going and agrees worst case positions until future deal is done.

Read the MAy context its pure tory party requirements.

No free movement of people (tick the racist box despite more of the eu citizens working as a % than UK citizens do) OR they are stealing our jobs (and our women)

    Leave single market (brexiteer utopia)

Leave customs union (race to lower standards)

Leave juristiction of ECJ cos may hates it apparently.

These are the reaosns why a backstop is created unitl a future deal is done. The back stop prevents the UK from diverging quickly and shipping **** into the eu via ireland.... well thats a gross understatement of what it is.

    Blair isn't wrong though.

corbyn in my view has gone from moral high ground 3 days ago to looking a fool.

everyone says he's a loony commie.

he had to drop the no confidence vote or look a fool but to pull up preconditions thst he didn't bring up 2 years ago is just plain silly

he should gave sat may down and afterwards said he lectured her on her stupidity.

right now Monday is the day where amendment on no no deal could be debated and voted on. test all the stupid ideas with votes and force may to do whichever has parliament backing.

sulking in a corner just looks stupid and letting Tories off the hook.
