Fred is a considerably better player now than he was before Rangnick arrived. Agree about Dalot and Telles as well generally. And let's not forget the faith he's shown in Elanga. Our football is better but the truth is Diego the rot set in over a considerably longer period, well before Rangnick arrived, and he's actually done quite well to move us this much forward but it was NEVER going to be solved in less than half a season.
Take another season at least imo, I can't understand why people are crying about Ralf when two things are fairly obvious 1 He has improved our style of play greatly and in consequence several players. 2 Being a permanent manager was and is not the intention.
So, just to summarise - our new interim, interim manager is fantastic, there is no discord in the squad since he arrived, we are charging up the table, our CL prospects look golden, all the players are benefitting from tier three coaching, l morale is sky high and we are challenginmg on so many more fronts than we would otherwise have done under the previous manager. Correct...................
So eventually you've got it.............. why the **** go through all the King Ralph ****e - what has changed, we're out of the CL and struggling in the PL.......by what measure have we been improved by parachuting in the second tier Russian football guru, where has it got us?
Do you know what his role is? Have you any idea why he's at the club at all. You must have some inkling as to what is going on.
I've afforded Rangnick the same privilege I did Ole when he first came in... and that was time. Something lost on some here. As you say he's an interim manager. What I'm hoping is, he's used the time to appraise who in that squad can remain part of the new direction and ethos the club will be heading in under the next manager.
The way i have understood it right from the beginning is that is his job. Assess the ability of the squad and how they fit a system best. Suggest a manger that can use the majority of the squad in his system. Pass on his opinion on each player to the next manager to use or ignore as he chooses (eg, this player has loads if ability and should fit your style but can't be arsed, that player thinks he doesn't need to be a team member, this other player is just happy to get the wages a top club offer and thinks he's made it, them two players will die for the club) Like i say, an assessment of each player (i could have gone on with that bit but i would run out of pixels )
Now that we're out of the CL (and weighing up our unlikelihood of finishing Top 4) the next thing he could and perhaps should do, is give a few of the Under 21's a run of games until the end of the season. I would be happy to see that. Use 1 or 2 in each game with the more experienced players.
Needs to be a few more pages though that was a quick read anyway @glazerfodder @Christiansmith should post on the PL board I can tell they would have many friends on there
WTF qualifies this retard to be in any way responsible for the direction that this club takes going forward? his name has been plucked out of the ether by Woodward and his cronies without a thought to his credentials or his ability to manage a team of this stature. Can anyone offer a serious argument as to why this third rate German coach/guru should have any involvement in shaping the future of our club? I'd rather they spent the money on Roy Keane and Edwin van de Sar than this idiot.
I feel we get more commitment out of them than some of the present senior squad (well sure of it really) and the only way for them to step up is to give them a run. You mentioned Elanga earlier, we also had Amad play a few games before he went on loan and he looked really good, there are quite a few who need constant exposure to senior games so they can make that step up.
And he is qualified to do this above anyone else in the world of football because..................................
