Games coming thick and fast, which is actually a very good thing at this point in the season. Momentum is important. FA cup third round tonight, at home to Everton. I'd expect a few changes from the premier league team on Tuesday, notably I see Fred and McTom starting this one, with Casemiro and/or maybe Erikson being rested. Martinez also to start, and hopefully Antony also back for some game time. Sancho perhaps back on Tuesday v Charlton? We should look to win this handy, keep the run going.
I don't know what you thought when you saw him live on Tuesday, but personally I thought Bruno was poor. And he's been poor for a few games since coming back from the WC. I don't know whether he should be the one dropped tonight... or whether he should play against a poor Everton side to get his form back. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Malacia and Dalot as fb's with Lisandro and Maguire as CB's. We're going to see what the depth of our squad looks like up front. Maybe Elanga and Garnacho start. Martial is the only option up front again. I think Frank has no choice but to play his strongest side given the mess he's in.
Well there goes that theory. Almost a full strength side. Antony starts as well which I think is a good thing.
He wasn't poor at all, no. Funny how the camera can lie. Not being funny or anything, but the TV does tend to ball watch. Bruno was all over the show. I get he's a moaning ****, but he genuinely gives a massive ****. Like I said before, Casemiro is absolute class, best CM I've seen at United since prime time Roy Keane. And that is some compliment.
I don't doubt for a second his commitment and workrate. He's a warrior. But he gets dispossessed, also a lot of his passes are getting intercepted easily. And on tuesday I thought he sold too many passes short. I put that down to the rain but he was the only one of ours doing it. Just my opinion of course and yeh it's defo much better watching players live.
Interesting (to me at least) that after a few games of AWB you realise what a downgrade Dalot is. I get it, he's an attacking full back, but his control and distribution is absolutely piss poor and he can't actually defend. Anyway, fully deserved second. Let's have a couple more.
Not an easy game at all. A better manager who has the balls to tell his CF to start the game would get this Everton side up the table. We need to stop this centre-back pairing with Shaw. It's ok against the lesser sides but even with Everton's attack we looked all over the place at times at the back. Lisandro comes on and everything's calm again. We're through and we go on!
It wasn't easy, no. But was a cup game and played in that spirit. Thought it was a cracker, and that when push came to shove, we'd prove to be better. We were. Another cup run out on Tuesday and then the full first team next Saturday. Personally, I wouldn't be playing Casemiro, Varane, Bruno or Rashford v Charlton.
Yeh I think that's why he played them today. Made sense as it now gives them 8 days before the PL game.
