Well, have I got a story for you lot. My younger son(the one that had his adenoids removed this morning, yes he is fine thanks for asking) dropped the remote control last night and it is ****ed. I bought a universal remote last night but it didn't work. I then went back to the shop today and got a different one that didn't work either. I just assumed that it wasn't compatible with my TV, so I googled it and I found out that you don't just need to put the batteries and press the on button, you have put in some ****ing code or some bollocks. Anyway, whilst googling, I saw that there is an app you can get on your phone that works as a smart TV remote. Surely that can't be right? It means I can switch the TV on with my phone, does such witchcraft actually exist?
I can see this thread getting even more replies than my award winning "omlette" thread. @brb hello, I was searching for the very enjoyable thread @Ponders Revisited did which was very aptly named "Who Am I?" but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Would you so kind and have a wee look for it please? Thanks in advance.
Just get your new remote working, shouldn't be too tricky. Or just get the Samsung app, you just need to check if it's compatible with your telly.
The instructions of the remote are in Spanish for some crazy reason, so I will maybe just try the app.
I got a new remote for our Sky box off of Amazon and it worked straight away. I had to buy rubber protectors for all our remote controls because my twat children have no concept of taking care of anything and they continually drop them on our hard floor. Not a single remote had a back on it but this is largely due to Grove Junior (Junior) raping the batteries in the house for is f.ucking X-Box. I've lost count of the number of re-chargeable battery packs I've bought over the years but the lazy sod can never seem to have the foresight to stick the batteries on juice. Good luck with your remote Mon, we are all thinking of you at this difficult time.
Again thanks hombre. I am going to find the football ones and post them on a site I am on and obviously say I made them up myself
Download the Google Translate app onto your landline, it has a live translation thingy. You just point the camera at the text you want to translate and choose which language you want it translated to. It's pretty good tbh, I use the Retard --> English translation mode to understand most of the posts on the British Politics thread. Also, you can pretend you speak Spanish too, it does live audio translation.
My mate can run a bath using an app on his phone, from the bus on his way home. Absolutely no idea how this improves his life in any way.
