To be honest we have been quite unlucky here today. That’s a good sign. I’m saying I’m sad we have lost but we have actually played very well. We have a very hard start to the season. So if we can pick up any points in the first six games that will be a benefit.
I would be optimistic. Spurs were fairly poxed. One that BARELY crossed the line and wouldn't have been given if there was no GL technology. Another one where Alli luckily found himself marked (or not marked) by a full back who can't defend. Hit the post twice 2nd half. Kenedy's chance. **** sake.
I’m feeling positive after that. Spurs looked **** but we were definitely the better team after 15minutes. We have a lot of tough matches coming up though. Won’t be surprised if we are on nothing after game 6
Personal opinion is we'll play better than that as the season progresses. Was absolutely nailed on we'd lose a full back to injury, only surprise was it wasn't Dummett as we can survive with Yedlin out... Dubravka was pretty crap, apart from one superb save. Looked like a £4m keeper. Dreadful distribution. Yedlin was garbage, Lascelles, Clark and Dummett fairly solid though we are let down by Dummett's inability to go forward. Midfield was very hit and miss. Some weirdly mis-hit passes by Shelvey coupled with one or two superb touches, and we had Mo 1.0 and Mo 2.0 in the same match. Ritchie was ok, superb cross, some poor decision making. Kenedy again has so much ability he looks out of place in this team - he's to us what Zaha is to Palace. Perez and Joselu started as they began last season, which is astounding given they've spent a year together since. I mean, Joselu injured himself failing to keep a simple pass in play. Perez just plugged away but simply doesn't read the opposition. Subs give hope - except Atsu, who was awful. I wasn't convinced hugely by the tactic. I know nothing compared to Rafa, of course, but I'm just not sure 4-4-2 is going to really cut it. It was the day to beat Spurs, who were poor, and we failed to do so.
A crossbar away from 2-2, a golden chance blown by Kenedy, a rare Joselu goal... disappointing but encouraging
If spurs play like that all season they’ll struggle, if we play like that all season we’ll do just fine!
The difference between the two teams today was luck Both team defences pretty poor I would even say spurs panicked more when the ball got into their box It's just that we could not capitalise on their poor defending We hit the post, Kennedy should of done a lot better than he did 1 on 1 It just wasn't our day Ref was piss poor as usual There was defiite instruction that he was taking charge of all decisions as the assistant on the east stand was so late with his flag all the time looking at the ref for inspiration Ref let a lot of man handling go but was quick to give a free kick against us if there was any contact from the toon
