Blackburn...1-1...Argyle.....F/T Szmodics...7 mins ...............Whittaker...74mins. McFadzean....red card on 54 mins. Argyle 70% of play. 20 shots....7 on target for Argyle. Two points dropped.....17th in table.
But a much better performance . Much more the Argyle we’ve come to expect. Be thankful for small mercies!
There's always a negative isn't there. Given our recent run only the complete gloom merchants can say 2 points lost. It was away from home for a start and we apparently played really well. With a bit of luck which we don't seem to get we would have had more but a draw is not to be sniffed at. Unlike Stoke we were never going to be done a pals favour were we. That result looks so fishy it can almost be smelt from here.
Statistically dominating ten men for forty minutes and only getting 1pt suggests to most people that 2pts went begging.....20 shots at goal and 7 on target and only one goal. Ian Foster suggested that they where disappointed to come away with only 1pt.....I don't see how any of that can be seen as negative....just stating the obvious that 3pts where on offer and disappointingly we only got 1pt.
I know points matter in the scheme of things but for me, and may I add most of the complainers recently, the way we play and the entertainment factor is upper most. Given some of the more recent performances today should be seen as a vast improvement and that things could be looking up rather than concentrate on we dropped two points. Continue to play we did today and points will come with a fair wind but revert ot the stale crap over recent games and we will be falling through the door without so much as a whimper. It just strikes me that no matter what Argyle do some will always look for the negative. I know you take your concensus from pasoti as I do read it so I know there are plenty on there who sing to that tune.
Don’t state the obvious, eliminate the negative, accentuate the positive and don’t go messing with Mr Inbetween.
Oh if I was showing my age I’d be quoting something catchy from the Gregorian Chant Greatest Hits Album.
