This is a fixture we have little previous in. Apart from knowing where Fleetwood is as my late father came from that neck of the woods, I have little idea about them. They get small crowds yet have gone up the football chain so obviously have somebody who foots the bills. If he likes the seaside and gets fed up where he is then all I can say is welcome here. There is absolutely nothing that can possibly go wrong this week so I am dispensing with the normal phrase. Easy victory (well I've got to try something different even if Adams doesn't)
Played them four times.....won 2, lost 2......last game was in 2014 when we won 4-0 at their place....called Highbury Stadium in front of just over 2000 spectators.
So Threlkeld starts....we didn't think he was ready yet....unless Adams was being a bit sneaky there. I don't see any replacement on the bench if he doesn't last 90 minutes ?
Oscar Threlkeld off injured......Aaron Taylor- Sinclair on....did he come back to soon...or were Fleetwood aiming for him ?
He took at least one knock - maybe going off unrelated to previous injury. Heroic while on.... hope it's nothing serious. Definite mind games being played: it was said Threlkeld might play for reserves next week but popped up in 1st team.
Fletcher scores 1st league goal but too little, too late. Same old story, concede first, chase the game, get caught out.
10 defeats in 13 games has got to mean the sack. In fact the manager should walk. All the hard work from last season is being undone and change is required before it's too late.
No one can have this much bad luck....maybe Adams isn't up to the job anymore.....who can he blame....it is his chosen squad.....this has to change soon or we'll be relegated before the New Year.
Sh1t good goal too, good cross field ball to Carey, twists the full back one way and the other, cross to near post and a glancing header from Fletcher who's lost the markers. But not enough.
Injuries, suspensions, own goals.... We've lost Threlkeld again to day, ended up with a left back at right back and another just back from injury at RB.... Why Ness in preference to Fox though? Makes no sense to me.
If I had to sum this up in one word the one I would use is Travesty. We did not deserve to lose this game and Fleetwood did not deserve to win it. Truth is we gave them their first goal and you could visably see the players wilt. The crowd did their best to give them a boost and I didn't hear any stick being handed out. Look at the stats and look at the fouls. The Referee if doing his job properly should have given a shed load more than that. I am amazed Blissett left with his skin still on the amount of grasping and tugging done by their back middle two. Blissett got nothing off the officials all afternoon. This game was game 2, 3 and 4 at home all over again. I'm not going to have a pop at any of the players because I don't think they deserve it. Songo'o was for me the MOM by a street. Truth being we can't score and if we could we wouldn't be chasing games every Saturday.
