In Sensible's apparent absence, I thought I'd start a thread. No change in Derek Adams' first pick 11 (as far as it's available) and continuing with one up front from the look of it. 23 McCormick 2 Miller 5 Edwards 15 Bradley 3 Sawyer 24 Fox 6 Ness 14 Jervis 10 Carey 16 Grant 9 Ciftci Sunny periods and heavy showers here in Plymouth. A brisk breeze may make life difficult. Scoring first for once would be nice.... we've started games well but the vital breakthrough has come at the wrong end too many times so far. Wootton and Nesbitt start for MK, but I don't think it's the ones we know and love.
And Carey, who hasn't seemed himself this season, gets a red for a bad tackle.in 33 mins. Two reds so far this season - how many did we have in the whole of last year?
Yes, have seen a video clip: rash tackle but from the side, their player goes down on his back - laws of physics don't allow for it, a dive.
So Fletchers on with 21 mins to go....is Derek Adams getting desperate and trying youth before Blissett.
A difficult start to life in League 1 for the Argyle, but performances don't seem too bad. The wins will come
Starting to sound like a broken record bit I thought we were unlucky to lose and were without doubt the better team on the day; that said , we need to learn the dark arts of L1. Missed the first goal because I was dealing with an issue -or more accurately I had been dealing with an issue and was having a small lunch whilst watching the match via TV. Whatever, it looked like poor defending to me. Didn't think Carey's was a red card; have watched it back on a very small screen and that confirmed my initial thoughts, we are appealing anyway so wait and see. Joel Grant's challenge in the second half was worse (than Carey's) and probably was a straight red. We played some decent stuff, however, with the exception of Ciftci's freekick against the bar our delivery from dead balls was woeful. MK Don's attitude and play acting was awful-Wycombe all over again. Due to a serious family illness the officials were rejigged prior to the match but I thought the ref was , at best, poor. No idea why he booked their striker for a challenge on Luke and got lots of other stuff wrong. Positives, the Alex Fletcher cameo, Joel grant had a decent game as did Jamie Ness. Am starting to struggle with Nadir Ciftci but am sure he will come good. Need to stop giving the opposition an early advantage and all will be well. There is always Tuesday! (though it would be a lot easier with Carey and Sarcevic in the team!)
Watched the MK Dons video.....Nesbitt probably couldn't believe his luck.....he had so much space that he could of done up his laces and combed his hair and then popped it into the net....who unearth should have been marking him ?....is Wotton not up to coaching defenders at this level....they have looked all at sea every game so far this season.....some say that Bradley and Edwards are to similar and therefore not compatible. Not sure about the red card....maybe a yellow.....the Ref was so quick with the card.....the player played the dying swan bit well....plus MK players got quickly involved.....you see far worse than that every week..... Joel Grant's tackle looked far worse.
Watched Carey's challenge on Channel 5 last night - never a red card, hardly warranted even a yellow ! Typical poor refereeing in the lower divisions. PS: Has sensible left your site ?!
Go on take the piss out of old people while you have the chance. Wait till I get windows 2 then I'll show you all............. Had to use my email reminder to get into here again. Anyway saw red card thing on tele today and it wasn't a red for me. Bit stupid to give the boy a chance to act that way but the Ref was wrong in my book. Mind you he didn't get a lot right all afternoon did he. This game was a carbon copy of Scunthorpe and I'd guess they took a copy of that video and studied it thoroughly. This league is way worse that league 2 for acting. I fear this season is going to be boring if that's all we have to watch. We should have won fullstop. Shifti looks a bit off pace at the moment Wooperts. Not been bad but not looked sharp or like he was going to score either. Jury out for me. He does try however so lack of effort isn't a criticism. Looks like he wants to do well.
The club have appealed Carey's red card and Adams is confident of a positive outcome. I'm not, the ref's never wrong as far as the FA's concerned, no matter what the evidence.
Only if the ref says he didn't see it. When has a ref failed to see something blatantly obvious at Home Park? Say and incident involving a ballboy he was looking straight at....
