Absolutely no idea what we can or can't do in this cup game. Have a ticket and will be going (that's twice now in this competition) so I guess I will find out on the night. Being in round 2 is quite novel for Argyle. COYG
Hard to judge the strength of the opposition.....did they put out a strong team in the first round....or just give squad members a game....it is the FL Cup whatever weird name it goes under.
Cooper, T Moore, Wootton, Canavan, J Grant, McFadzean, Baxter, Edwards, Mayor, Taylor, Rudden. Subs Palmer, Sawyer, Aimson, C Grant, Lolos, Randell, Fletcher. Ryan Lowe has put out a strong team for this Cup game.
All I'm going to say with this game is that Argyle were very good and probably the 4 - 2 scoreline flattered Reading a bit. For the first 25 minutes or so we were excellent. If anyone could tell which was the higher team then they would have been doing well. They equalised and took over for a spell. Second half and much the same. We did very well to start with and then perhaps faded a bit. You could see in the end the better class, speed, fitness and positional sense or the Reading players. If Argyle had been playing a league 2 match tonight they would have won it in a canter. More than a couple excellent performances tonight.
Just looked at the video....I thought that Cooper might of done better for at least two of the goals.
Listening to the GoS match commentary...it seems that Taylor's goal shouldn't have stood.....the ball had gone over the goal line by at least a foot before being pulled back for the goal.
Ryan Taylor came off at H/T to protect one of his ankles from any further damage.....he had taken a knock to the front of one of his ankles and Ryan Lowe replaced him so that he could recover for the Northampton game on Saturday.
Carabao Cup (League Cup) Third round draw would have given us an away game against Alex Palmers Wolves.....if we had won of course.
