Why the feck does no one highlight Vertonghen holding his head to get Torres sent off - no one touches his head yet he goes down holding it trying to get him sent off, disgraceful decision!!! If that had been suarez holding his head.....
Pat Nevin did Pat Nevin, BBC Radio 5 live at White Hart Lane Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea "I'm trying to understand why Vertonghen was lying there holding his head because I did not see Torres touch his head at all."
Sorry watching it on bt - they have said nothing, they are the kind of incidents that deserve retrospective bans, they all agree not a sending off but nowt said about Vertonghen, does my scone in grrrrr
Tbf i not so daft to think we dont do that sort of thing, what annoys me is the lack of uproar when its say spurs today. Torres should have walked for the scratch but that not the point for me i just hate the double standards.
Torres did get an elbow in the head, not saying it deliberate but he at least got touched, V did not, and like i say, its the way it is brushed over that bugs me, just waiting for the post match analysis
No he didn't. Vertonghen's hand touches the side of Torres' face and he gets his shirt pulled but nothing that warranted holding his head. Plus, he held his head for about two seconds before pointing and laughing at Vertonghen (which probably got him booked as he suggested he was guilty)
If the FA can look back at the lady boy scratching & punish after the fact they should be able to look back & punish Vertongan for simulation. Cheating's cheating.
Suarez who was booked last season at the SOL for 'diving' when replays clearly showed O'****e had brought him down (and damned well knew he had, yet still conned Twatkinson it was a dive)? Yes, cheating and play-acting are more than just diving.
Sorry, but is this thread serious? If I was scratched in the face on purpose by Torres, I'd try my hardest to **** him over. Vertonghen did what I would have done bar try break his ****ing leg. Torres deserved what he got.
True but that doesn't make it right! Torres should be punished for the scratch but his sending off should be rescinded to a single yellow too. Both players should face action for cheating (faking a head injury to get the other into trouble) but that obviously won't happen as it will open the floodgates. PS...where the **** you been?
Ok, now I've had a chance to see the whole Torres/Vertonghen handbags game. Comes down to 5 points. 1: the trip, Torres on Vertonghen. Vertonghen falls over without Torres touching him, so don't understand why Vertong had gone head to head with Torres. It was a disgusting dive. 2: the scratch, well that was a red on its own 3; Vertong pushing Torres away. Maybe a yellow for Vertong 4: Vertonghen fouling Ramires, could have been his 2nd yellow. 5: The final clash, absolutely nothing there and Vertonghen did more play acting. Frankly both Torres and Vertonghen should/could have been sent off way before the last clash. Think Torres will be looking at a further ban for the scratch and if he doesn't the FA is more **** than everyone already thinks they are. Is a scratch is the same league as a bite? or only half as bad? I'd hope to see at least a 5 game ban (6 with the card).
Have I been away that much? I'm single now and been out the country with work. I hope the board hasn't suffered too much in my absence, but understand if it has. , #valuablememer #drunk
