Dutch football magazine Voetbal International report this evening that Vitesse Arnhem and West Ham United are very close to an agreement on the transfer of Ivory Coast striker Wilfred Bony. VI reports that the fee will be around 13,5 million euro's or 12 million pounds. Bony is currently the top scorer in the Eredivisie, having netted 26 goals this season. The striker was on trial at Liverpool in 2008 but the Reds let him go and Bony went on to sign for Sparta Prague. In January 2011 Bony made the transition to the Dutch league and has played two and a half seasons for Vitesse. During the winter transfer period Bony made it very clear to the club and the media that 23 Ivorian striker wanted a transfer to a bigger club. Voetbal International says the deal between West Ham and Vitesse will likely be announced early next week.
