First post here, so hello! Have supported Newcastle for as long as I can remember, which to my memory I think is the late 90s cup finals. Whilst living in England, I've yet to visit Newcastle or St. James'. I'm on the Isle of Wight, so I've previously watched them at Southampton. First back in 2004, where Stephen Carr scored a great goal! Recent trips there have been less memorable. So far this season I've seen West Ham, Bournemouth and Tottenham away - with tickets also for Watford this weekend. Last week I saw that the Man United game still had tickets available, so I thought I'd go for it! Like I say, this will be my first time in Newcastle, I'll be flying up from Southampton in the afternoon before the game, and staying the night then going back the next day. I'll be travelling up on my own, so here to see if anyone was also going to the game that wanted to catch a beer pre/post game and show a little of the city off? (On me off course!) Have a few hours free Wednesday afternoon, so any recommendations for things to do in the city please let me know. Thanks in advance!
Yeah but he has stayed up until 3:am every saturday to watch them in his local thai bar since the 1999 quad. The flights from Thailand to Manchester are pretty expensive, so he compensates by purchasing all the merchandise!
Welcome on board mate. I'll not be able to make this game due to work commitments so have passed my tickets on to a neighbour. A good place to head pre-match is Shark Club, right opposite St James' Park (the old brewery building). Here is a picture of the inside: please log in to view this image If you like your beers and ales then there is no better place to drink than Tilley's: http://www.theheadofsteam.co.uk/pub?pub=2 It's just up from the academy towards China Town. In terms of free time around the city, it would depend on what your interests are to be fair. There are loads of decent shops and a couple of decent museums: The Hancock https://greatnorthmuseum.org.uk/ The discovery Museum https://discoverymuseum.org.uk/ You could also book in on a tour of St James' Park Hope you enjoy your trip up and once again, welcome to the forum!
Welcome to the forum! I'm not going to this one myself, but hope you get he answers you need off some of the others. Enjoy your trip and the game - and keep posting
Not in Thailand - it would be the early hours of Saturday Edit: Note to self: Check the original post before trying to be a smartarse
It makes no odds to me, I work nights, them ping pongs don't pick themselves up. Sky+ it's the future.
You'd think so, but I live in Thailand remember. The games are finished here before they even start over there. #Future.
