HOWE: WE CAN REWRITE HISTORY AT ANFIELD Okay, let's listen to Eddie Howe now as he talks about trying to rewrite history with a first ever win at Liverpool. HOWE: WE CAN GIVE BIG BOYS A GAME And of course, Bournemouth DID thrash Chelsea 4-0 a week or so ago: "We’ve always proved that we can put our game together against these teams and produce some really strong performances," said Howe. "The results, that’s always a difficult one to define, the Chelsea result was where everything came together with the result. "There have been other games where we’ve performed really well and just missed out. We’re going to have to defend well in long periods and we should have moments in the game to show what we can do." CHERRIES LOOKING FOR FIRST ANFIELD WIN Hmmm! Bournemouth have never won at Anfield, Liverpool haven't lost at home for over a year - and, of course, a point would take the Reds back to the top of the table. A daunting prospect for Mr Howe? "These things have always faced us before. In the Premier League every game was rewriting history and proving we could do things for the first time. "I think we tend to look at these things as a nice thing to do, try and write new history for the club. "Winning at Anfield is something we would love to do. No team has done it for a long time in the Premier League which shows you just how good Liverpool have been." Flag
big talk but none of his stats stand up a) They have a shocking away record b) their record v top 6 is awful c) they play open no matter what the game In short i think we should be winning 5-0 if in form so a 3 goal margin is my expectation.
Let's pray that he does not suddenly turn into Big Sam. I still can't understand why some managers don't play a more defensive formation and game when they know they'll be slaughtered playing an open game. Stubbornness? Taking pot luck?
hes never done it before. look at thier results away. WON 3 LOST 9 scored 12 conceded 27 chelsea 2-0 burnely 4-0 newcastle 2-1 city 3-1 wolves 2-0 spurs 5-0 utd 4-1 everton 2-0 cardiff 2-0 seriously.... this lot started well but they are absolutely pants on the road. they are all about home form. We NEED to be beating this lot. I EXPECT us to beat this lot. 3-0 thats a good score. if we concede due to issues at back fair enough but then just score more. just look.. City, cheslea, spurs, utd... all our rivals beat them... EVEN EVERTON... EVEN ****ING CARDIFF.... c'mon lads they play football. howe doesn't change tactics. he's a bit naive that way. they play and open style, trying to play football and rely on a couple good forwards. IF we don't beat this lot just start thinking about next august lads... seriously... I've the utmost respect for them and what they do but WE ARE LFC. we have that front 3 and VVD and big al... WE MUST WIN.
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool will fight with every fibre for Premier League title https://www.skysports.com/football/...ght-with-every-fibre-for-premier-league-title
No surprise Neville is finding the title race exciting now. He obviously wants City to win it but as he has said in the past it is like having two blokes to nick your wife. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/29326/11631656/nev-its-becoming-real-for-liverpool
Liverpool Likely Line-Up Henderson, Wijnaldum and Alexander-Arnold all trained at Melwood on Thursday, giving all three a chance of returning to the side. Alexander-Arnold would replace James Milner at right back, while Henderson and/or Wijnaldum could come into midfield, at the expense of Adam Lallana and Naby Keita. Xherdan Shaqiri, too, will push for a start having been benched at West Ham. He could come in on the right, though Klopp may prefer to use Keita from the left and Mane the right, or opt for a more robust midfield thr please log in to view this image
Utd fans side with city for now. Give it another decade or so of their dominance and they will start worrying about their 20 league titles
Every match is a must-win from now on. We've lost 1 match, City have lost more and we're second! Makes no bloody sense!
we have been at 3 points for a win for a fairly long time now Wishi so you should be getting the hang of how it works - any way in that respect the weirder one is Spurs position. Plus never mind the fact they have played a game more.
No. After week 20, we were on 54 and City was on 47. That was a real 7 point lead. We had that lead prior to our City match too as a win would have had us on a 10 point lead.
A draw is like a mini defeat now. Dropping 2 massive points. We have literally 13 cup finals which we have to win. Every one of them. A defeat will bring city level with us with a superior GD.
