We seem to be playing on a par to our wages. Sheff Utd absolutely over performing. Manchester City £7m Manchester United £6.1m Liverpool £5.5m Arsenal £4.8m Chelsea £4.8m Everton £4.1m Tottenham Hotspur Leicester City £3.4m West Ham £3.0m Crystal Palace £2.9m Southampton £2.3m Wolverhampton £2.2m Newcastle £2.1m Watford £2.0m Aston Villa £2.0m Bournemouth £1.9m Burnley £1.9m Brighton £1.8m Norwich City £1.0m Sheffield United £0.7m Absolutely obscene amounts in any event.
11th to 18th on there is much of a muchness and shows in the league. Pretty sure I mentioned this last season but even so... One of my work mates did their dissertation on wages on sport (maths degree) and found that in the top five leagues in Europe over the past decade teams finish within two places of their wage ranking over 95 percent of the time.
thats interesting i was told i was talking bollocks not so long ago when i said wages pretty much dictate where clubs finish ...
We aren’t quite as bad payers as I thought but “club size” wise 3 of the Clubs below us have just been promoted and none of the others below us I would expect to pay more than us But on my perception of Club “size” there are a few above us who we should be able to out pay. Plus whilst acknowledging that “pay” doesn’t equal “ambition” or “quality of player” Hazza’s comment doesn’t surprise me at all.
Not by me you weren't. I posted about this 2-3 years ago and there's a definite correlation though unlikely to be a causation as such
Its remarkable the bullshit people post about you when you're not here. I mean lets not let the fact I pointed this out many moons get in the way of a good yarn. Carry on Paddy.
Nah its only me when dispelling myths (like Rafa) and providing cast iron facts. You want a Groot or RobEllious for the fairytale/unicorn type stuff
