Prediction League Watford Fantasy League 2022/23

I am wondering if the SPL adds very much to this league, should we exclude the SPL from it? Not a good idea by me.

Thoughts?

 

I tend to agree... for next season......so predictable at the top

always a raffle at the start of a season is it not?

 

How about picking a top and bottom of each division, use the points differential? So if the bottom team ends up above your top pick you get negative points... The cup winners are like a bonus, say 3 points for each round they win, 6 points for winning it?

 

Confused...generally.... failed O level maths first time... But what do you mean when you talk about cup winners on here?

 

I have a friend who runs two similar predictions league competitions. The one I enter is as follows:
We choose top and bottom of the 4 English divisions and the two English cup winners.
The cup sides chosen get 1 point for each round they progress (3rd round onwards) and 5 points if the chosen team wins the Cup.
The league teams have the points differential from Top and Bottom with a 5 point bonus for each team if you are actually "spot on"

So... if you had Burnley top and Wigan bottom it would currently stand at Burnley 56 less Wigan 24 = 32 +5 (Top Bonus) +5 (Bottom Bonus) =42 points
The ones with the biggest points tally wins.

Up until 23rd December, the points tally ranged from 88 down to 12. Negative numbers are wholly possible - especially if if you thought, say, Norwich would be top and Millwall bottom, then you'd have -3 points for that division.

Been doing this for decades! Never won. No surprise there!!

Mark has taken command overall as a result of holiday matches. The chasing pack of 3 may find it difficult to catch up now given that Mark has selected many of the successful teams so far this season: Arsenal, Sheff U, Ipswich and Celtic all with 70 + points.

A good first half of the year - but not getting the champagne out yet!

 

The leader in each division has not changed giving Mark and commanding lead overall. Some changes in the following pack notably by NZ rising to 2nd overall. It's quite tight for 2nd & 3rd place and unless I can catch Charlie, the wooden spoon is mine due to selecting Liverpool, Chelsea, Cardiff & MK Dons, although I was not alone in picking Chelsea or Liverpool. Anyone who picked Burnley would have been quite happy I think.

After all, Doncaster still belongs to Scotland.

 

Little change although Mark has been toppled from the top of the EPL. Those with Liverpool in their selection benefitted from the demolition of Man U.
