Rose had better stay off the Xmas trimmings!

Maybe, just maybe Sema could play there. Oh wait! He's injured too!

Too true - he's the only fit 'specialist' left back we have now.

Lord only knows what next month will bring, when WTE, Louza and Sarr, if fit, all head off to ACON. Given his current form, possibly even Dennis too.

    It doesn't bear thinking about.

AFCON players will leave early to isolate in their bubble and may have to isolate on their return.

Funnily enough it may end up only Troost. It would have been Sarr, Etebo, Masina as well but they are likely injured. Dennis hasn't been called up for 18 months at least but his form is such that he may now also be picked, we shall see.

Will clubs really let their players go given the current situation and uncertainty about the new variant of COVID?

If the new varient keeps spreading at the current rate, will the tournament be postponed to a later date?

I don't think so but if the scientific evidence in a couple of weeks proves it is a deadly strain then it's possible but so far it appears easier to transmit but not more harmful.

Common sense would say yes, very likely.

A lack of common sense, however, might see the UK government offer to host it in England...

Europe's clubs are seeking urgent talks with FIFA after raising concerns over player safety at next month's Africa Cup of Nations.

The emergence of the omicron variant of Covid-19 has led to countries around the world reintroducing restrictions and travel bans, and may lead to a fresh dispute over player release for international duty next month.

I cannot see it going ahead tbh unless they are confident there will be no issues.

Probably time to postpone International games and European cup games unless played in empty stadiums
