This match day thread has been produced earlier than recommended due to constant whinging popular demand

So following yet another international break proper footy resumes with an away game at Watford who in Ranieri have yet another new manager . We hope Thiago will be back fit enough to play as can assume our Brazilians won’t be playing . Watfords form in the last 5 is 1-1-3 with the last two fixtures ending in defeat .

Last season the corresponding fixture led to our first defeat of the season

CL 2-0-0

LC 1-0-0

Our first defeat of the season last year was 7-2 v villa. Find it a struggle to believe we lost to Watford last year given they were in the Championship

 

Also at least Firmino hasn’t been called up to Brazil squad cos was injured at the time.

Maybe with struggles in midfield maybe time to play front 4 again with Hendo and one other behind?

 

Hendo cannot play in a midfield 2. He can only play on the right side in a midfield 3 or as a budget version DM.

Lets hope Thiago and Naby are back and let them play. Hendo deserves to be dropped.

 

Naby kicked the floor and got injured and is allegedly ****ing about with contracts, has been generally **** for years and you still want him to play. #fanboy

 

Ox Chamberlain and Naby Keita are pulling their weights, surely we are going to miss Harvey Elliot.

Jimmy still thinks Keita is the answer to our midfield issues, despite all the evidence to the contrary. He'll never change.
Sadly I don't think Keita will either.

Yet the narrative is that Naby was poor this season but Hendo's been ok which is actually couldn't be further from the truth. Naby actually played well in that LCM role this season.

You want to bang on about meritocracy but our captain has been the worst midfielder for us this season yet you want him to continue?

EDIT - I dont think Naby is the answer, hence why I banged on about signing a midfielder this summer yet was told that this isn't Fifa or Football manager.

Yet you don't seem willing to admit that Keita is unreliable, and no manager is going to base his team around a player under those circumstances. He is only ever likely to be peripheral.
You condemn any decision that doesn't chime with what you think is correct. You're not alone in this, but it's divorced from reality. Expecting everyone else to do what you think they should, and getting miffed if they don't, is just a recipe for a frustrating time.
Klopp makes the decisions, not you or me or anyone else on here - just have to live with it.

 

Wouldn't say he can’t. In a midfield two wouldn’t be expected to get up and attack, would be a more disciplined role akin to what was doing last year in sitting back and covering TAA who is pushed on.

 

I have accepted it. I said it before this season that Naby is unreliable and if a good offer comes in, we should get rid of him (along with Ox) and bring in someone who is reliable because I'm getting frustrated. If we are keeping Naby, then I think he should be rotating with Thiago for that disciplined LCM role. Problem is, Thiago is also injury prone lol!

 

I just want Hendo to play a simple role - hold position, cover space and recycle possession. I'm sick and tired of those first time crosses which are pointless.

 

Fabinho and Alisson out for Watford coz they objected to a delayed kick off and will be less than 36 hours .
