Another grand effort. A very long time ago when I lived near Watford, a trip to St. Albans was usually worthwhile. Not far from the Abbey is a pub that claims to be one of the oldest in England. Not sure quite how many make claim to that. What appeared to be a sunken area in the public bar, was the cock pit, when fighting birds was a popular pastime. Looking at your fixtures, I suspect we will be back having a chat next season, but good luck apart from Saturday.
We, that is our family, lived in Chipping Barnet, the northern tip of Greater London. People referred to it as 'High Barnet' but there is no such place just the end of the Northern Line. I never went to Vicarage Road even though it was only a few miles away. I was either working or shopping. Watford was a nice town but nothing compared with St Albans. Being a major Roman settlement, there are plenty of ruins and incredible mosaics dotted around the parks. The market in St Albans is worth a visit. The main street, apart from market days, has suffered due to major shops like BHS closing down. Watford was better for shopping: covered market, John Lewis Partnership. My wife once haggled with a shop assistant in JLP to reduce the price of a king-size bed which had already been reduced and won a significant further reduction. She may have been diminutive but was a terrier when it came to haggling. Tomorrow's game should be a feisty one with both teams grasping at straws to reach the play-offs. The injuries blighting PNE should enable the 'talented' youths to stand up and show their mettle. One suspects that The Scouser will turn to the knackered older players though.

A free kick from Rajovic went just over the top but the best chance fell to us Keane's first time shot looked goal bound until curling away from the onion bag at the last minute, with that we rather disappointingly shut up shop bit strange seeing we needed to win.
