Sargent has been good the last two games, his touch looks a lot better and he’s used the ball pretty well and provided a good outlet. Hopefully he is finally settling in to the pace of the league
Wonder if the Norwich curse will strike again? Claudio Ranieri time must be running out, by Watford standards.
And also really satisfying after what I felt was a really harsh defeat to Watford that really hurt Farke’s morale.
I've never seen the effect of confidence on a player as visibly as I did in Sargent after that goal. He was jumping a foot higher to win headers, much more certain with his decision making. I keep forgetting how young he is.
Good win for your lads tonight. Although until the third goal, I was worried you was going to bottle it against ten men - never does the opposing side many favours when a red is shown. I thought the floodlight scenario was a complete fiasco, looks like refs have lost any commonsense they had left, did it really need 15 minutes to come to a decision to play on.
He's at 0.58 points per game, Munoz went at 1 ppg. They play Burnley next and that's a must-win, in 15 days time. It's as big a window as you'll get to make a change.
For those of you streaming: the Sky commentators have been waxing lyrical about Sargent’s goal for about two-thirds of the time since the whistle. It looks incredible in slow mo
And wasn't it always odds-on that if Sargent did finally get a first league goal, it was bound to be weird in some way? No chance of a tap-in or a header from a corner.
They’re talking about it in the same category as that extraordinary Giroud backheel flicked goal and another amazing Robert goal for Newcastle which I have no memory of.
I thought it had a touch of Buendia about it, but Emi could never bang a header like that in for the second goal.
I loved the "Sargent's on fire, your defence is terrified!" after the first goal. They were singing it SO loudly too!
Dean Smith apparently set the challenge that the players would get a day off for every point picked up in the last two games. So 6 days off before the next game.
