the amounts some of the clubs revieve is staggering compared to what we get.sparky cannot say they did it on the cheap now.
We’ve been saying the same thing for a month now, you need 2 things to get promotion from this league A good manager, As he can instill a drive and passion into average players. He can make a team of 11 individuals into a fighting unit, a team. Warnock, Bruce, Dyche, Macarthy have never gone up with spending loads of money. At least a lump of cash spent wisely. Last season we spent £20m but because we didnt have a top manager we wasted it. £20m spent on three players this time should do it, but quation mark on the manager
i cannot understand our owner not investing a wedge the fans will get the team over the line.like you say get some quality in.
Oi wakey! - are you talking about me?........ From what I can make of that article, the last paragraph is badly worded and doesn't make sense. We got our 4th and final parachute tranche of approx £10M, the same as Fulham's 3rd year para payment and with the TV money ended up much the same as them overall for the season. Don't go on the £32M received by Villa that it seems to suggest for us. It's actually quoted for Villa who were on their much higher 2nd year parachute payment coming down 2 years after we did. The parachute payment we received this season was our 4th year and final since the rules changed in 2016/7. It's now spread over just 3 years not 4. Interestingly, the rules have also changed to the effect that any club that comes straight back down will forfeit the 3rd year parachute payment and only get the first two payments - better make sure we don't come straight back down eh? The huge bias now set up for the first year parachute payment means that Swansea, Stoke and West Brom will each have over £40m cash stuffed in their pockets next season. Mind you, so did Sunderland and Hull this year but it didn't do them much good did it.
no because they had to fork it all back out in wages.the players and agents have sucked the life out of the game.
Did we spend 20m on top of what we received or did we spend 20m of the Wood Taylor money. I’m confused
This is how it works: We officially spent over £20m on paper but that will be spread over 3 years so reality is we spent in real terms just over £6.5m but the repted £20m we recieved for Taylor and Wood is also spread so we only recieved the same £6.5m we actually come off much better though because we didnt pay VAT on most of those buys because they were overseas, whereas Burnley had to pay VAT which was another £4m Whatever players we bought last year and the season before we will also have paid this season
Cant remember what crap we bought the year before or the year before that, but I seem to remember a lot of prices not announced. So betting the carried over payments due this season would me minimal, but were still owed circa £12m over the next 2 years
we both know he spent somewhere between **** all and nothing. When analyzing potential future Itll be well less than the 19,l a week, 4 m signings and see what’s left
