Luton Town have turned down an estimated extra £1 million pounds in sponsorship from betting firms because they don't want to send pro-gambling messages to young fans. Hopefully other clubs will take notice and follow this excellent decision to not chase the easy cash.
On top of that they are in serious danger of playing in the Championship next season Perhaps they can become a serious rival to us once more I wish them well unless they are playing in our league but as long as we beat them at least once and they finish below us in the table I will be happy
If only their plans to get a new ground were as efficient! I always suspected they'd come again but let's hope Kenny and his Pompey boys deny them I hate to say it but think they would give us a good game tbh…score goals for fun.
10-0 would be preferable. Complete humiliation. Nothing less will do, regardless of the margin of victory.
They are in the SkyBet Football League, so the logo of one betting company is already on their kit, on the programmes and on advertising in the ground - if they really wanted to show an anti-gambling stance, they could withdraw from the league.
I think the stand they have made is admirable but they still have to live in the real world. Maybe if enough clubs show a similar kind of leadership it will also make the Football league more responsible. I would hope WFC also think about the consequences of encouraging gambling. It is those least able to afford the losses mainly affected. They stopped the use of cigarette advertising in sport, gambling addiction is just as anti social.
