His time in Portugal was beyond impressive to me, Sporting CP was a mess and Robson was sacked having led that side to the top of the table. Obviously, realising the Sporting director was a complete moron, Porto snapped up Robson and his record is incredible. Won over 70% of his games, won titles, revived their club. Its not talked about so much but I think its up there with his time at Ipswich as the most impressive part of his career.
When you look at who we had compared to arsenal and man united whe he was ay nufc it was amazing how close we came to winning the league. He said and I think he's right that if Bellamy didn't get injured we'd have won the league. We got bumped in a semi vs Chelsea. Bobby did it at multiple clubs and not many do that . I can't think of one disaster. He was a nice guy but he did more a less tell me to **** off when I asked for an autograph and didnt have a pen. So sad that nufc fans stabbed him in the back.
I don't think he failed at a single job you're right. He always achieved at least the base requirement of the job.
I met him once. I had long blonde curtains (what a state they where) and he patted me on the head after rubbing his nose.
I met him just the once and got an autograph, bit shocked when as he scribbled away, without looking up, he said “Ah’m sooo glad you’re not one of those dopey ****s that never bring a pen, **** me lad I have met some ****wrags the last hour”

Seriously though, what a man Bobby was. I’d only recently developed my love of football and the toon when Mexico ‘86 came around - I remember Bobby had a bad rep amongst my mates then, seen as a bit soft. Then I was spending a year in Australia during Italia ‘90, that silenced everyone and his club management career was overall stellar. We just don’t have anyone that can lace Bobby’s boots these days. But everything is cyclical…. in 30 years I might view Steve Bruce in the same light. (I gave an extreme example solely to make a point) (Steve Bruce will never be viewed that way) (Ever)
