Arsene Wenger will sign a new contract with Arsenal, according to former player Martin Keown. (Metro via BT Sport) My commiserations to all Gooners, if Keown is on the money with his ITK. What's the general consensus on this board? Would it be a progressive step for Arsenal to give Wenger a new contract to take the club forward? An increasing number of Gooners believe that, under Wenger, the club has stood still over the last decade and, perhaps, has even begun to decline. Personally, I think it is in the club's interests to get shot of him, rather than to offer him a new contract, which is why I hope they do offer him a new contract. Under his stewardship, I have seen Spurs gain on Arsenal, season after season, to the point where we are looking, by far, the better outfit. It's only natural that I would want Arsenal to keep a hold of Wenger for as long as possible. However, I want posters to put aside tribal differences, and to vote on what they believe would be best for AFC.
I agree whole-heartedly with you, NSIS. I take it, from the tone of your post that you, like me, believe that Arsenal would be best shot of Wenger, now?
Sorry to gate crash this love in but im a little petplexed? Wenger whilst at arsenal you have never finished above him. Surely you dont want more of the same?
"Petplexed," Gary? What the **** is that? Is it a new brand of cat food, or something? Anyway, the point that appears to be alluding you is two-fold. Firstly, under Wenger, AFC has stood still for the last decade. Secondly, in that period, Spurs have closed the gap on them (ie. moved forward), to the point where we are currently above them in the league at this point in the season, for the second season in a row. I know that that doesn't ring any alarm bells for bell-ends such as yourself and some of the noddy-Gooners on this site, but for real Gooners who are living in the real World, it rings massive alarm bells.
You again are mistaken my name is Ossie and i really dont care for your bullshit pal so do ud all a favour and put a g string in it.
I've got you rattled, Gary. If you cannot stand the heat, **** off and leave me alone. If you don't, I will keep ripping the piss. It really is very simple, even for a ****wit such as you.
Meanwhile in reality ..... Under his stewardship, you have seen him finish above Spurs every season and win the league 3 times, the FA cup 6 times, including 2 doubles, whilst Spurs have won virtually **** all.
Don't get upset with me about it mate. Give the old bill another ring and complain to them if you're going to blub about it
IMO , Wenger is the best manager in the Premier League , but he manages a very conservative " Top Team " .
