This run leaves them third in the table, two points behind the top team, Bournemouth. Their top scorer is Callum Robinson with 3 goals, and then they have three players with two goals, one of whom is ex-Ranger Matt Phillips. Their manager, Valérien Ismaël, managed in Europe, before moving to England to manage Barnsley, and then taking over at The Hawthorns in June. He's surely been given the aim of a quick return to the Premiership. As for us, a good win in the cup will surely have lifted the spirits, and given we are playing before everyone else, it'll be good to get the win and move into the playoffs, even if it is only for a day. Still no team news on the official, so others can add what they know, and I'll add it if it goes up before this evening. To those who are going, enjoy, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Yep. I was in the North Bank when that winner went in. Fantastic. My youngest is going on Friday. His mate is a season ticket holder at WBA and got him a ticket next to him. Apparently going to wear his Rangers top under his jumper.
Remember that match very well. It was an enjoyable experience. Was also in the North Bank with the fellow R’s!
I remember that match too. Was the first time as a kid, I got beer thrown all over me, had some explaining to do when I got home. Some true greats in that '82 team
Remember some Albions thugs swinging a punch at me as I walked to Highbury & Islington BR station. I was not wearing any colours but I guess that I was smiling. Luckily they missed!
I lived and worked in a small town in northern Nova Scotia when that goal went in. I didn't have my short wave radio at that time and there were no Sunday newspapers being published in Nova Scotia so I had to wait for the Monday paper to get the result. I left for the store before breakfast and opened the sports pages to read about that match in the parking lot before going home for breakfast. Two days later and now I feel aggrieved if the BBC site or Not606 doesn't give me updates within 2 minutes of the event
I feel aggrieved if I can’t watch it live on a stream and on have the match commentary! How the times have changed!
unfortunately I copped a sly dig from behind after the game. I went on the coach from the Springbok and we parked right in the middle of all the WBA coaches
