Of the 6,227 there were several hundred City fans, so that makes 5 thousand -odd home fans Our last game v BHA was meaningless and with a v low away turnout. Think that was the season before SAFC only brought about 3 coaches for a a night game, att. 5, 713.
several hundred? That could be anything from 300-900. Take away the Boro fans from our home game with them and they still had a larger proportion of the population turning up in a season they were relegated than we had in a season when we finished sixth. You can do anything with figures to prove a pointThe attendance for the BHA game was pathetic really. Will we see any sub 6,000 attendance for a sixth placed side's meaningless last home game nowadays?
Is that the Wednesday who are one of the only 13 clubs who have averaged over 40,000 a season? Can't stand Wednesday but if they were in the PL they would get larger crowds than ourselves.
From 85/86: September : Bradford away 4,930 (came up with us the previous season) October : CPFC away 5,226 and Shrewsbury away 3,587 Nov. CAFC away 4, 140 Dec Millwall away 3,783 Feb HTFC away 4, 518 March CUFC away 3,248 April FFC away 2,799
Football was on a downward spiral in those days. Still more fun to be had on a Saturday though. The "match day experience" leaves a lot to be desired nowadays.
You get that with a lot of clubs when you have 2 in the same city! None of this supporting other teams! It's one side or the other! It's a bit like rovers & FC but obviously a bigger scale!
Not really. Newcastle only have one club. Sunderland and Wolvrrhampton, two of the others only have one club. Nottingham has two clubs, one of them double Eurooean Cup winners, but they aren't in the 13 either. Though Leeds, the largest city with only one club aren't one of the 13 either.
Precisely. Spontaneity always leads to the best occasions. The best nights out were often ones where you were sat at home, expecting nothing more exciting than watching TV when someone rang or called and asked if you fancied a night out. Wednesday used to have a good idea in the 1970s. They had a stall taking booking outside where you had to pay 50%. A good home win and they were queueing up on the way out. Ironically the coach firm was Sheffield United Tours (they had no connection with the Blunts). I know a Wednesday fan who went over to Sheffield on Friday night just to arrive in Hull with them, hoping no doubt to spot us lot waking along. He ran out of East Stand on to the pitch when Wednesday scored and broke his leg. How we tried not to laugh.
No I mean if you've got 2 clubs from one city you get them one or the the other! Like I said with FC & rovers even if you don't go or watch the games you'd always maybe sway towards one side or the other! And as with FC on Friday night they'll come out for the big games! Like as been mentioned with weds & united!
They have a few (less than 5 I think) Sunday 12pm kick offs which will only really be used when it's Europa League teams chosen.
Explain? I get that the clue is sequential in the alphabet but can't figure out the link to the answer.
