If it wasn't for his horrific injury, I am 100% he'd still be playing Premiership football, and now Sam Ricketts is playing L1 football. What a shame. Wish him the best though, without doubt one of the best defenders that I've seen during my 14 years supporting City! http://www1.skysports.com/football/...m-Ricketts-leaves-Bolton-and-signs-for-Wolves
Nothing against Sam, he's a good bloke and I wish him all the best, but he wouldn't make my top 20 of the last 14 years. people really do forget that he was dropped during our best run in the Premier League. He couldn't get near the team.
Being dropped from team was no indication of anything at that time, we played Kilbane ahead of Geovanni, Fagan as a lone striker and all sorts of other daft selections.
I thought he was good too. We missed his long crosses into the box and long throw ins quite a lot. His defending wasn't totally meh either.
Rather than commenting on the choices of our eccentric manager, I meant our best run came without him in the team.
I thought he was very good, probably one of our most underrated players when he was here. Strong at the back and solid going forward. Always worked hard and was versatile. Was very sad to see him go.
