If the money bags Premier League can't get their act together to finish their season and have know idea about how long it will last and when to start next season it could be next year before we see football with crowds back so rushing into decisions about this season seems premature we are in the middle of a pandemic FFS
So what I am saying for all leagues just wait until we can have crowds back finish off the present season and cups and euro comps revamp the league cup and start it as that comp is finished also the efl trophy play out the final then run it as a proper comp with championship teams in it maybe run a extended playoff system for promotion and relegation then make leagues one and two regional for next season
As personally I'm not interested in watching football without crowds may as well watch the village team play in the park I for one couldn't care less about watching German football behind closed doors but for those of you who do enjoy Croatia v England
And another thing I can't hug my children or grand children or my mother and people want to restart the football season FFS get real
I don't think that is a problem Ron extend them or let them go apart from friendlys we won't need them until next year I'm not the only one who thinks why disrupt two seasons read below https://cliftyschat.wordpress.com/2020/05/17/2019-20-how-should-the-football-season-be-completed/
If cancelling next season isn't disrupting it, I don't know what will. Next season needs to be with fans attending throughout the season. I would suggest either cancelling this season and not disrupt next season, or play out this season when fans can attend, regionalising next season so that fewer games are played, and have play offs between the regional champions to decide promotions
Was not against your club just stirring it up a bit Has anyone thought if its suspended what clubs would have to pay back Season ticket holders sponsors tv money plus loads of other things Only people who want to carry on is Premiership clubs Any way not over till Championship clubs and league one and two vote . Did you know our Masters EFL have over 50 million in the bank dont see them helping out clubs
Yes clubs have thought what they will have to pay back and it is probably less in the long run than trying to finish a season without people there. The season ticket holder question is for individual season ticket holders. Club offers XYZ as a refund and a season ticket holder says no thanks you can keep it as it will help to keep you going. That's the option everyone has. After all it's money already spent and nobody went bankrupt buying the ticket in the first place. It has been asked at my club and many have said they will leave the money where it is. Sponsors unless they want to alienate the very ones who they are advertising at which is football fans might just decide to leave it as well. The TV people of course will want a refund which for leagues one and two isn't a fortune each compared to trying to play games with nobody there. "was not against your club just stirring it up a bit" ....... if you believe that you will believe anything. You would have been better just using the word "bitter" than stirring. Life is a bitch and then you die where football is concerned so why should this be any different. Last season Sunderland played Southend with their Z team in the last fixture and Southend won the first match for an age to save themselves from relegation. My club got relegated instead. Did I moan and groan about it? Nope because that's life in a football kit. Get over it is my advice.
No im not bitter .Personal i would stop the season and start again when virus is under control nobody should get promoted or relegated but only my two pennyworth more to sport than peoples lives . Yes i miss sport but im not going to die because of it .
And if Posh were top right now you would be very quiet. What you want is what is best for YOUR club and it is quite obvious by your comments.
Ron what I'm saying is football should not be restarted until fans can attend as that may not be until early next year why not continue this season off when it is safe to do so and its not so much cancelling next season as its postponing it I know it will mean the football calendar would be all over the shop for a while but that is already in place with the world cup in Qatar
That sounds to me one of the better ideas you could even plan to finish the season at the end of October
It all depends when crowds are allowed back into stadiums until then they can play as many behind closed doors friendlies as they like if the TV channels want to broadcast them its up to them
