Schindlers list. Done know why I haven't seen it. The Godfather 1 and 2 are classics and worth persevering with.
Mate you have to watch Schindler's List, it's an incredible movie. Another one I haven't seen is Italian Job. I've got quite a lot actually, Star Wars... All of them, absolute crap.
Tel, the original Italian Job is a belter, the cars, the scenery and the music. Cracking. The famous music incidentally was by Quincy Jones, not some British composer as you might expect...if you've heard it, that is! Its far better than that Gladiator bollox that I so far haven't watched
Seen most including kids films with the grandkids. Two of the granddaughters can sit through the Jurassic Park body ripping without turning a hair. When the child catcher scene comes on during Chitty Bang Bang they are behind the seettee and for all they are in their twenties now the will not watch that film. I get them out of our house to go home by threatening to put the DVD on or with a keep net and going round behaving like him.
I'm sure it's a great film mate but often with films like that I need to be in the mood, I may watch it one day. I never watched It's a wonderful life until a few years ago, but I've watched it 4/5 times since. Never Star Wars though, I'd rather fry my own head.
I've only recently watched the original 1977 Star Wars film in it's entirety, I'd seen umpteen clips over the years. It was almost a relief to watch it all in one go and finally get it out of the way. I thought it was a decent film to be fair. It's a Wonderful Life is class. I suppose we can't all have seen every film ever released. A couple of Christmasses ago, we watched the Great Escape at home. The father-in-law, 80 years old, hadn't seen it. I was jealous, I knew the joy that he was about to feel watching it. Great story, stirring tune. No spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it
Sunderland 'twelve angry men' and 'the wild bunch' are brilliant films. Never saw ' Clockwork orange' for about 40 years after it was made because you could not buy it in any form video/dvd due to Stanley kubric banning it, as I tried then got the dvd and book version. There is a film called dr sardonnicus, which I am still trying to find after about 40 years of searching.
That's what made Copolla convince the studio to give him the role! They completely vetoed it as he was a loose cannon but his voice and cotton stuffed cheeks turned it around in casting. Worth watching with subtitles.
