    Average at best imooc.

Even worse, was Inception, one of the most overhyped films of all time, I wish I hadn't bothered.

Agree. People have issues with it because it's not factually perfect, but if you look at it as just a film, it's class.

Some films that I have never seen which most people have, have already been mentioned.

However some films that I have seen which many people raved about at the time but which I couldnt get away with are:

    Fight Club
    The Matrix
    Trainspotting

Hated all 3 and would get a bit pissed with myself when my friends would rave about them. I wondered whether there was something wrong with me.

Schindlers List is a must. I broke down crying in the end when Schindler did the same. What a bloke!

Love a good war film but found Apocalypse Now very boring.

Matrix and Fight Club were guff, but Trainspotting was very good in my opinion. The book is far better than the film, especially if you read Skagboys and Porno as well.

Saving Private Ryan... that's one film I never turn over, if I watch it from the start, if I catch it half an hour in or 20 minutes from the end, I always end up watching it until it's finished.

Same with Lock Stock and Snatch.

The beach landings left my jaw well and truly dropped. Although it was an excellent film I felt it couldnt live up to the beginning, although that was histories fault I guess.

    Platoon and FMJ?

I'd say Platoon is better, for sure. It's the best of them all.

Yep you got them. In that order aswell.

To me Platoon is the finest movie ever.

Aye that's a great film, raw and traumatic but with a thoughtful side that gives your emotions a wallop.

I used to love The Thin Red Line, another war film of the same era but with a different style. It has its fair share of action but it's more understated and introspective. Very interesting and it looks beautiful.
