I watch a ridiculous amount of films but have never fancied Shawshank Redemption or Schindlers List.

    No plans to either

I wouldn't have said they were the kind to love or hate, they're too good for that. Mind you, so is Marmite.

It's about two out of work drunken, drug abusing actors in the late 60s. Imo the greatest British Comedy ever made. It's was Richard E Grant's first leading role and he was outstanding.

The drinking prop was only supposed to be filled with water, but as a joke somebody filled it with vinegar, so a large part of his reaction was genuine. Richard E Grant is teetotal which makes his drunken performance exceptional and even more enjoyable to watch!

A few not too keen on Apocalypse Now......but it's still a great film, from the opening scenes of napalm bombing to Martin Sheen lying on the bed with the helicopter blades turning into the fan above his head, to Robert Duvall "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" to the choppers flying into battle to the sound of the Ride of the Valkries. And that's all before the entrance of Marlon Brando.

    A seriously good movie, folks.
