Now actually, that is one I should watch. My dad was in Burma during the war. That's tonight's viewing sorted.
Is it my grammar or what, but a Jap prisoner of war wouldn't be Japanese, he is in this instance English, he actually came from Berwick, the guy Firth was playing that is as the film is based on a true story.
Well that makes more sense, I'd say that a Japanese POW would be Japanese but you could probably read it either way.
Interesting that that clip was posted on YouTube over 2.5 years ago. Not sure if there is a release date yet. I look forward to seeing it but I'm not sure anything will match BoB with the actual soldiers being interviewed at the start/end of each episode. They simply couldn't do that again as pretty much everyone will be dead now. Still, this has loads of potential.
Not a film, but anyone still hooked on this? The popular TV show Game Of Thrones will conclude after its eighth season, broadcaster HBO has announced. The announcement was made by the new programming president for the US cable network, Casey Bloys. Mr Bloys, speaking during the Television Critics Association press tour, added that a possible spin-off programme may be made. Executive producers David Benioff and DB Weiss have previously suggested that the series may be approaching its end. Game Of Thrones was recently renewed for a shortened seventh season of seven episodes, instead of the usual 10. The penultimate season will be broadcast next summer. The eighth and final season is expected to follow in 2018. Game Of Thrones picked up 23 Emmy nominations this month, the most of any show. The series is adapted from George R.R. Martin's novels and stars Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington.
One of the most compelling series I've ever watched. If no one has watched it yet give the 1st season a watch - fighting, sex, blood & intrigue and that's in the first episode
