cast iron casserole pot so you don’t lose heat and a thermometer. Did it in winter, only room for one fish at a time, so was not a two person ‘nice meal’ and oil was not hot enough for first so greasy. Interested to see this. Good battered fish is a work of art.
Can’t disagree with tons, even good ones/home grown. Love a good tom/red onion salad, salt and good oil.
This will be my first attempt so I'm sure it will be dreadful. How bad will dictate on whether i keep trying or not.
Yeah screaming hot oil is the key, otherwise it will be greasy and soggy. Fine line between getting a nice crispy batter and burning your house down.
I actually like crispy chicken skin, just not someones leftovers. I thought your meal looked ok yesterday, although the only problem is i doubt it was enough to feed your appetite. So you had junk food after, which defeats the whole idea of healthy eating.....I know, because it's what I do, but normally with biscuits and sweets!
