Jobi McAnuff (Watford, 2007-9) is one of the best and most insightful television pundits when analyzing games in the Football League. Now he has been nominated to join the F.A. Board as an Independent Non-executive Director. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/jobi-mcanuff-mark-esiri-fa-board-b997907.html
He always stuck me as an indifferent player during his spell with us - his heart never seemed to be here.
A friend who supports Palace correctly pointed out that McAnuff (also dubbed ‘NotgoodAnuff’) only showed up against former teams, of whom there were many.
Sound familiar? Watching the Salernitana v Cagliari game on BT Sport and the commentator mentioned that Cagliari had just signed their third HC of the season with only three matches left to play - Alessandro Agostino replaced Walter Mazzarri. Bizarrely, in September Mazzarri had signed a new deal with the club which reportedly included a clause that stated he would have his contract extended until 2024 if he was dismissed from his role while the club was outside the relegation zone. When sacked, the club were in 17th spot, just one above the relegation zone, but are now in 18th spot - so it looks like he has simultaneously been sacked and had his contract extended. I dread to think what Watford fans would think if Gino allowed such a clause in his contract dealings... Football's first Schrödinger's Head Coach?
Andre Grey, whose contract ends next month and isn't likely to be renewed, is apparently interesting Preston North End. Shame they're still in the Championship - he'd more than likely score against us.
Luke O’Nien beats George Byers in the battle of the ex Watford youth team midfielders as Sunderland prevail against Sheffield Wednesday. Will face his old side in Wycombe at Wembley.
I didn't even know Fessi had left Udinese... https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...league-with-111th-minute-screamer-in-malaysia
Jon-joe O'Toole playing for Mansfield at the moment in the play-off against Northampton. Interestingly the Newcastle player, Matty Longstaff, with whom we were linked at one stage, is on the bench for Mansfield.
That's either a reflection of our standing in football, or on how far he has fallen from grace. And maybe even an indication that we dodged a bullet there. He signed for Aberdeen on a season long loan at the start of this season and was pretty poor there - just a few appearances before the loan being cancelled. Now on the bench for Mansfield, I can't imagine that he has much of a future at Newcastle.
