Afternoon fellas, It's been a while since I was last on here but I just want to ask who you lot would realistically like to get in? Personally I'd just like to keep the mainstay of our team together (Modric,Bale,Dawson etc) get rid of Jenas,Dos Santos,Bentley etc, any of the strikers and Hutton. Use that money to bring in Llorente,Damiao and the young Croatian Vukisic. In addition let's please avoid Cole, Beckham, and any other 'old boys' who offer us nothing to take us forward! Cheers
Any of the three named would be useful, as would Rossi. I'd have quite liked Wickham but thats out the window now. Marin would have been a decent addition too, but with Bale, Modders and Peanut as well as Danny Rose vying for the left doubt he would have come anyways. If we manage to get rid of Bentley, and are in the market for a back up for Azza, I'd probably take a punt on Hitzlsperger from the Villa. That Tasci bloke if we want a def would be preferable to paying WAY over the odds for Cahill or buying a Shawcross. oh.... and according to Shelfside, I also want Ken & Mike Baldwin but can never decide between the two.....
Hard to argue with virtually any of that, though I'd suggest that it might be worth bring in Cahill or Shawcross if we could get them as part of a player exchange. Getting shot of some of our dead wood and bringing in a good, young, English centre-half would probably be worth a bit of a financial hit. Not sure why we're not interested in Onuoha if he's available, as the press have suggested. Quality, versatile, young defender, as far as I can see. Might be worth sticking in a bid for Tomkins and loaning him back out, too. Hitzlsperger's on a free, from what I've heard. He's not a winger, though.
You'd think he was a lot older than he is - but sadly doesn't look like he has much life left in him. Didn't he only play a handful of games last season?
He missed most of the season with injuries, Shelf. You'd think that he'd show some loyalty to the club that supported him for a year, but not in the modern game, I guess. He did play well whenever I saw him, though.
My bad on the Hitzlsperger, he used to play for the Villa but forgot he was at Wet Spam. He's a right footer, can put in a mean ball from the right, as well as having a cracking dead ball shot and whenever I've seen him he was always coming in from the right so assumed he was a rightie ala beckham and bentley. plus he's a more attractive option than Joe bleeding Cole
I would be a grown man crying if we got rid of Modders and replaced him with Cole as the press are suggesting.
He has a decent right foot but his is definitely left footed, and a central midfielder not a winger. I'd still prefer us to take a gamble on him though even with his injury problems than sign Scott Parker for the reported £10m.
Every single West Ham player with a relegation release clause, who we'll sell by the end of the Transfer Window for some quick profit. There's more than one way to find a new stadium at the expense of The Pornographers... I wouldn't mind seeing Jagielka join, as he could be a good partner for Dawson, not least because he can play the ball like Ledders does. Leandro needs to be sorted out ASAP, too.
The Figo and Vieri rumours have died down lately. I'd like Tomkins(Onuoha isn't a bad shout though), NEXT MODRIC and ANY NEW STRIKER OTHER THAN HESKEY.
Surely you can't mean ANY NEW STRIKER... Bellamy... Carew... Carlton Cole... there's got to be some standards
honestly? Carew & Bellamy to replace two of Defoe, Crouch, Pav & PSB? I'd rather keep what we've got...
Nah, I was exaggerating how desperate I am for a new striker. Although, I'd have been happy for us to get Bellamy last year but he seems to be totally crocked now and Carew would have been decent about 4 years ago.
