Hardly a great pool to choose from lol. I'd say Field has without doubt been the most consistent player this season, but no one else has got near the amount of games he's played have they ? Dieng probably next but missed a few cos of the World Cup. If anyone posts Roberts , I might have to hire a hitman !
Field of course. Player of season...he has been consistently the best player...except for that one match that Critchley played him at right midfield ...Doh!
Pretty difficult to look past Field to be honest. Tyler Roberts could get a half vote for going back to Leeds and not wasting our time anymore.
Please define player. What we have can't even be referred to as a footballer. Forget professional or player!
I think Dieng has been bang average this season. Not bad.... but very average... and he is capable of doing so much better. I've seen more mistakes from him than ever and fewer great saves. It's not often a keeper will let in six goals and, at the end of the game, not have made a single good save. Moreover, on top of dropping the ball for one of Tuesday's goals, he was Missing In Action for at least one other. I also think his distribution this year has been a lot slower and a lot less accurate. Having said all that, we know what he is capable of and I look forward to him reclaiming the form of the past couple of seasons which made talk of him going to a Premier League club a genuine possibility and, for us, a real worry. He will come good - very good - again. I agree about Field being consistently good but I would vote for Chair. He is our much-needed creative force and works incredibly hard both in attack and defence. He genuinely seems to care. The criticism, of course, would be that he often hangs on to the ball too long but I think that comes about from a positive instinct: a desire to do more.
I didn't say Dieng was next best player this season mate, just that he'd played the next most games after Field. Think Dieng has lost heart with that defence infront of him and probably expects to be moving on to better things elsewhere !
My mistake... sorry... but my observation about Dieng is still worth making... and I agree with your comment about playing behind our defence, it must be both an absolute nightmare and soul-destroying.
