Ha - it's gone to 8.05%. Some genius has decided since last night that Sherwood will become the next manager. No **** Sherlock!
Hiddink has till this day not yet penned a contract, though all indicators suggest he's going to be the successor of Van Gaal. The football world in The Netherlands has been in turmoil with this saga. Ronald Koeman, current manager of Feyenoord, was to be the top candidate for the job, the FA even asked him to put a clause in his contract to leave Feyenoord when the position would become available. Koeman refused to do that. This week, Koeman stated he was offered the job as assistant for Hiddink, he turned the FA down because he thinks it is below his level to be an assistant of the national team(Koeman was Hiddink's assistant on the 1998 World Cup in France). Koeman's contract runs out next year, he will start negotiations for an extension in January but it looks likely that he will weigh his options after the debacle with the Dutch FA.
That would be a very big gamble I think, he hasn't impressed much outside of the Dutch League. Lasted 18 months at both Benfica and Valencia.
According to sky Italy, we've approached prandelli over the job, despite Sherwood being given it for now.
Oh good. I'm glad Levy's starting to undermine Sherwood immediately. That'll give him a true taste of what it is to be a Spurs manager. "Dizzying offer"s to foreign managers should be put in before the next EL game I'd say. Main benefit of Sherwood is that he's not one of Levy's head-hunted master plans. Please no more of them ever.
Not sure which makes that more doubtful - the fact Sky reported it, or the fact the Gazetta and Corriere haven't dignified that rumour in any way, shape or form.
